Curious...whose child left on the 3rd of September for BC in GL?

Hi everyone,
Maybe this is to sudden, but I'd like to establish friendships with those who had children leave for BC the same week my son did. I love this website and it is a true blessing. My heart feels like someone punched it and I'm barely eating. I received my "I made it" call late Thursday night, but haven't seen or heard anything else. Thank you to everyone who posts the normal for all of us newbies. It is helping me to understand what to expect. I look forward to building relationships and a chance to meet you at PIR.

Don't expect anything until the 3rd week of bc. My fiance wasn't able to send any letters out until the 3rd week and can only send them on Sundays as those are there liberty days for a few hours. If his division does well they will be granted more frequent calls. My fiance called me a total of 5 times during bc. It just depends.... Write to your recruit daily once you receive his address. Although, they can't send letters out until Sundays they are able to receive letters daily from us. It will bring their spirits up and make them work harder just so they don't get pushed back and get to see their family on time. You will get a call the day before graduation letting you know if they will graduate or not... Graduation is normaly on Friday morning so it's a good idea to fly out Thursday evening to get everything straight.

I wish you the best of luck and to your sailor as well... =)

My son left on Sept 1st for bc. I haven't heard from him but i got his clothes back. This is not easy. I carry my cell phone around so I won't miss his call.

I received the box today. Wow, looks like it was thrown in. We called the recruiter for his address. He gave us a ship #10 and Div R. Thhis doesn't sound right to me. Shouldn't his division be 3 digits. This is so hard for me and I carry my cell phone everywhere with me as well.

My son left sept. 2 for bootcamp in the great lakes also. Miss him..but want him to do this for himself. Got his box and his notes (his girlfriend was so happy to get them). Just hope he stays strong.

I received my first letter today. My son shipped out last Thursday and he wrote the letter on Labor Day. I'm so excited I could scream. He is Division 370 Ship 10. I don't know his PIR yet though. His letter stated that he hasn't started training yet which has me concerned because now I think that means another 8 weeks before I see him.
