Navy For Moms

I DEP'd in in july and got my rescue swimmer contract in october. But when i DEP'd in because i was independent studies throughout high school i had to get 15 college credits even though i have a diploma. Since i got my AIRR contract i have had to go to alot of PSTs in LA which is really hard to balance with school. I missed alot of school because of the mandatory PSTs. I just found out i failed the class because of to many missed days and now they will pull my contract they said because i only have 12 1/2 credit. I am suppose to leave Feb. 1st so its coming up fast. If anyone knows of any ways to get around those 2 1/2 credits or know of anyone that has had the same situation a little help would be really appreciated. I want this more then alot of people can understand and have been working for it the past year and a half while jumping through hoops the whole time. Im not about to let this just happen for something thats not even my fault.. PLEASE HELP!!!

YOU SHOULD TALK TO YOUR HIGH SCHOOL AND THE ONES WHO ARE IN CHARGE OF YOUR CONTRACTI do not believe they would make you miss high school classes to go to PST,S

does your college have a winter session where you can take one class? my nephew is taking some 4 credit science class that meets every day in January for like 5 hours a day. But, come the end of Jan, he will have those credits.

I wish you the best of luck straightening this out. They DID call meetings for DEP meeting during High School while my son was in and they also had their SEAL meetings at any given time and there was NO excuse for not being there at the meetings for both DEP and SEALS. Highschool didnt like the time off and the Navy didnt care. It was totally at the mercy of Highschool to not count it against him and allow him to make up work. I dont know if this is Navy wide or not but that IS what happened here.

they used to have intercession classes but now because of their budget cuts they dont. i guess all i can do is prey that they see how bad i want it and make an exception for the 2 1/2 credits. And yea wendy thats exactly what happened here, i feel like i was set up to fail. not really fair but then again it is the military and from what i noticed they are very black and white with getting in. im not givin up though

SARs, Hey, you DON'T give up!! I know that it really sucks and is so very very unfair. But you use this to make your resolve to do what you want and stay head strong!! It is a road bump and in the Navy there are alot, and honestly if someone over you see's you as threat to their advancement or might not make them look good they will through those in you way over and over again. Please Please stay focused, take a deep breath, and find that place in you soul to come right back ten times the resolve. We laugh at my house because I am more like a Marine, I want revenge now, but during hubby career he was able to watch and sit back and watch because people like this will eventually put that noose around thier neck and kill thier career themselves. Hang tough sweetie...make this make your stronger. Im proud that you a Ship mate in the Navy with my son. I wish there where more like you. But you will go far in your career and in your personal life understand where some of these people are coming from. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU, you will do just fine!! Im proud of YOU!
