My son is going to Dam Neck, Va. Help please!
My son will soon be stationed in Dam Neck, and has been told that the barracks are closed due to renovations--won't be open til March. He will temporarily be housed in Oceana. He will have help getting back and forth for the first few days or so, but after that he is on his own. Does anyone else know anything about this, and where he can go to see about transportation? He can't afford a car right now. Thanks for your help!

I'm pretty sure the Navy has transportation to get back and forth if they are having them stay in a different place. It's not that far from Oceana to Dam Neck and I'm sure there will be other people going that way each day.

I would say that as soon as he gets there he better be asking alot of question. Maybe even now. They have to have a plan for these guys. But you son HAS to ask.

It's about five or six miles from one base to the other. I suspect if the barracks cannot accomodate him at DamNeck, there will be transportation available - there will be others in the same situation.
