It's Official, I now have two children in the U.S. Navy!!

Wow, it is hard to believe but my Step-Daughter who lives with us 100% of the time has decided to join the US Navy. She is currently on her way home from MEPS. She left last night for the ASVAB test etc. She called me about an hour ago and said it is official. She has enlisted into the DEP program and will be completing her Senior year in high school and then shipping out on July 15, 2009!! I could hear the joy and excitment in her voice over the phone. Her job position is hospital corpsman/dental assistant. I am not sure what all of this entails but you can bet I will read as much info as I can find. Sooooo, it looks like 14 months from now we will be traveling to Great Lakes again but this time for my Step Daughter. Amazing that we have 2 children now in the US Navy. I am so proud!!!!

Thanks Karen and Shell! I am so excited for her. I think this is what she needed to start off her Senior year in the right direction. All she needed was a little focus and now she has it! She sounded so excited over the phone!

Congrats Ann- That's great!! she must be a smart girl...to already know what she wants to do. Go Navy!! and that is a great choice for her job. now you can be twice as proud ....
