Navy For Moms

1st time blogging so bear with me.
Before I actually became a member on this site, I used to see the advertisement on TV and thought just another ad for the military to get our children to join. However once my daughter Susy went to boot camp it seem like the ads were popping up on every show that I was watching…lol, as if something was telling me to go to the site and just see what it has to offer. Well to my surprise, I found a community of women who are caring, thoughtful, very supportive and informative. As I read through the threads I find myself laughing with the other moms, crying my heart out for them, and feeling proud for them. This site has taught me how to reach out to others who are in need. Don’t get me wrong I do reach out to others but not at this scope.

I feel children are a gift from god and not ours to keep. We raise them to become their own individual and help them set forth their own goals in life. Who am I to hinder them from their life purpose. So I never stood in their way. Prior to Susy going into the Navy she had lived in Australia for over a year and I used to talked to her just about everyday. I am always in contact with my daughters and this is the first time that I haven’t and it was very frustrating. But NFM’s has helped me along the journey with my daughter who's pir is 7/3....whooo hoooo!!! and I am blessed to have found this site.

Thank You NFM’s

!st time blogging here and what a nice job you did expressing your sentiments Sonia. I also like your thinking, our children are a gift and one of the best gifts that we can give them is the opportunity to grow and make decisions. Enjoy your PIR this week, it will be another very proud moment in your life!

What a great philosophy! Congratulations on your upcoming sailor :) Have a great time at PIR. It truly is an amazing weekend, not any individual part, but the whole weekend!
