Navy For Moms

I'm sending my last card to Great Lakes for a while.

I've sent a card every day since Jamie left for bootcamp on May 7. I wrote the first one on May 6 while he was spending the night at MEPS before he even left. I sent two on Mondays (one for Sunday, one for Monday).

I have devoted a great deal of time to this. I feel like something's missing from my life. I tried to send him something every day that would make him smile. I've gone through two color ink cartridges from printing silly pictures for him. I used every email that anyone sent me with wet cats, funny road signs, fake motivational posters, etc.

But there's no point in sending anymore right now. I figure it takes about 4 days for my mail to get to Great Lakes (I know it takes 4 days to get from Great Lakes to me because his letters are mailed on Monday and I get them on Thursday). So the card I'm sending today (Thursday) will get to him on Monday or Tuesday. I will be there on Thursday for PIR!

I wonder what my mailman is going to thinK?!? He's picked up a MINIMUM of one card every day. Once there were 34 (when we sent cards to the "lonely recruits"). He'll probably call the police thinking that I'm laying in my house dead or something!

I can't WAIT to see my sailor and I can't WAIT til he can have his cell phone and laptop! THAT will be a good day!!

I was like my husband graduated and he is on to A school and we get to talk on the phone now. Congrats to your son Tina I cant wait to hear about your trip and what your son is up to :)
