I had an incredible adventure with the most diverse, talented, friendly, kind, generous, dedicated women while I was in NYC. Nothing like this has ever happened to me in my life. Ever had a day where you just pinch yourself and said, "is this really happening?" I read comments regarding whether this was a successful adventure or not. Although more air time would have been nice, the people at NBC were very nice to us. Meredith said that her father was a NAVY man, and one of the first flight surgeons. We were advertising from the moment we got off the plane, or train. We had Navy veterans stop and talk to us. We had actually moms, both tourist and locals, who told us that they had recruits at Great Lakes or on ships. We are all role models for caring for our children, and our country. Molly said that she feels she has 3600 children. We celebrate successes, we share sorrow, we educate and learn. We have great days, and not so great days, sometimes for no reason that we can identify, but someone will understand and relate. We have different coping skills or none. But we have our sailors and recruits in common. And that will always make us a part of this Navy family.

LOL . . . so did everyone end up with comfortable shoes? That's why I wear Crocs:)! And Kimberly does seem to have a habit of closing her eyes right as the picture is being taken, but I love her anyway:)! Thanks for sharing LynnDear:)!

LynnDear: It was wonderful sharing this experience with you and the others. I agree it was "pinch me, is this real" moment. While we didn't get much air time, I think the attention we got while walking around Manhattan supplemented the event. We sure did talk to a lot of people. Moms, Dads, Sailors, Army, Navy, etc..... It was definitely a worthy cause and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to share with all you fabulous people.

Kim, I can't imagine keeping track of that many kids especially at Time Square. We just looked for baby blue shirts, and hats on Thursday. Friday was more difficult in real clothes.

So glad that you had such a great time. We missed you all. All the pictures have been great to look at. Thank you for sharing with us.I feel the same way about all the moms that I have met both personally and on the site. They are the best people I have ever met.

Brenda took about 500 pictures, but she won't come back until late tonight. I know she will pick the best of the best.(make me tall and thin). Usually when you go to New York City, you avoid eye contact, don't answer questions, don't talk to strangers, don't look up, and walk quickly. We broke all of those rules, especially our brave Molly. She has never met a stranger. "Inquiring minds need to know". This is a picture of Molly in front of the New York Stock Exchange."I don't see why I can't go in there".
