Navy For Moms

Hi all,
I had hoped to refer you the Lincoln website and the Tiger link, but it is gone. Here are a few basics:
who can't go: spouses, boy/girlfriends, significate others-Navy doesn't want relations on the ship. It is still a fully functionable ship and the sailors have a job to do.

Who can go: parents, step parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, extended family. It is based on available spots, and health. First come, first served, then health issues are the deciding factor. I met a couple of families who had 3 there. My cruise had 1100 tigers on it.

We left Pearl Harbor on Friday 10-1 and got to San Diego early the morning of Wed, Oct 8. If you go to www.navy.mil
and type in the words tiger cruise under photos, you will get to see some pictures from various tiger cruises.

I need to get to sewing. I am in a craft fair this weekend (for the Tucson moms, Pantano and Broadway in the Sam Levitz shopping center-I have the aprons, come by and see me) and have lots to do.

Later,
Sue

Hi Sue,
I really don't have an answer for you. The ship has internet access, but Ben said that it was slow. Have you checked out the website for his ship? Maybe that would give you some answers. There isn't alot of free time on the ship, they work 7 days a week. Which ship will he be on? And yes, a Navy counseler sounds like a good idea.
Sorry I wasn't more help.

My grandson is 19 and has no idea what in the world to do with his life. He belongs to the Navy with any luck for the next four years. Are there ways he can take college classes while he is at sea. He deploys in January and has been in 16 months. He still paints and cleans and does pretty basic chores. He wants to improve and is seeking counsel from me. I think he needs a Navy counsel as far as career. any thoughts?
