A 'Picture' Perfect Leave . . .
After the 'scare' of a cancelled flight because of the winter storms in Chicago, almost two hours on the phone with the airlines, and the blessing of a friend and fellow sailor who left O'Hare to drive back to Great Lakes to get him back to O'Hare for an earlier flight, we were LUCKY enough to have Bryan home for over 2 weeks:)!
On the day he arrived I had to work, but his dad hung the welcome home banner before picking him up at the airport . . .
and after telling Molly that even tho' her son comes home and irons, that would never happen at our house, he proved me to be a liar . . .
Of course, the REAL reason was that he was escorting his girlfriend to 'Winter Ball' that night . . .
After a couple of cool and rainy days, our Arizona weather came through and he spent time working on his cars . . .
and enjoying the temps . . . I think it was 76 the day I took this (12/30/08) . . .
He also cleaned his room!!!!!!
AND his closet!!!!!!!!!!!
He spent time with friends . . .
and invited me to join him on a hike . . .
Catalina State Park - the same place that we hiked in September at the Navy-Mom-A-Palooza weekend, only a much more strenuous trail . . .
not quite 'strenuous' enough tho' because he HAD to climb the rock above the trail (LOL!) . . .
there' s lots of amazing scenery . . .
We had lunch at Romero Pools . . .
the water was beautiful but freezing (snow melt) . . .
Combined with everything I wanted 'under the tree' on Christmas morning . . .
and an 'updated' family picture . . .
our holiday leave WAS 'Picture' perfect:)! GIANT HUGS to all:)!

Great Pics Joyce--I am not so sure about the clean room and closet!! That has only happened at my house AFTER Aaron has left LOL!! Great way to capture the holiday season!!!

LOL... THAT picture was NOT his room!! NO way!!! I saw the "before" on that room... remember? What has the Navy done with your son??! Ironing, cleaning, organizing... next thing you're going to tell us is he cooked for you too! ..... He did, didn't he? :)
