Great job getting E6 in 8 years!  I was CTM2 when I left after 5 years.  My hubby was CTM2, at 8, he had passed the E6 test, and would of started wearing it soon, but we got out and came home to raise our (now) 6 kids.  Our oldest is in boot camp right now, going to IS school.    You should be very proud of her (plus the ESWS!) wow!

Could someone tell me what a CTM2 is? It's obviously a great rate, or whatever list it falls under. Thanks!

CTM is Cryptologic Technition - Maintenance,. https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ctm.pdf

There are 5 different CT ratings. The others are

CTI - Interpretive, foreign language translators, https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/cti.pdf

CTN - Networks, computer networking, https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ctn.pdf

CTT - Technical, which comes in 4 and 6 year flavors, https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/cttaef.pdf and https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ctt.pdf

CTR - Collection, https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ctr.pdf

All are considered 'spooks' or 'secret squirrels'. They snoop on the bad guys.

"In God we trust. All others we monitor."

purplegiraffe69,

She's proud of the ESWS pin on the left side, but prouder of the PSB on the right.

Her next goal is the new EIDWS (enlisted information dominance warfare specialist) pin

Emma,

Thank you for the explanation of ratings. I enjoy learning the different ratings, and you are the best source I can think of for such info. I totally understand the spooks/secret squirrels" info. I was a part of a "police family" for over 16 years...married to a Detective, now an Investigator.

Thanks again!  :-)
