Hi Kelis ~

I agree with you...people shouldn't make fun of others accents. Perhaps if your daughter ignores those that do so they'll feel foolish for being so mean in the first place. She's in my prayers. blessings, Sherry

Very true, we are from the Philippines, english is our second language, and we have a different accent, but I'm very glad that we can speak fluent English, and we can speak fluent tagalog, and we also speak Spanish. I’m not being critical, but if you will ask them to speak our own language which is tagalog or Filipino, I don’t know if they even understand a word of our own language. Tell your recruit that she shouldn’t be affected, just ignore them and show them that she’s a smart person. People who laugh at her are not educated and descent.

You know... my daughter has told me how much "high school" mentality is out there... this is just more proof. Tell her to ignore them... they're looking for a reaction... if she doesn't give them one, they'll (unfortunately) find someone else to torment.

Well she is just blessed to speak another language. Might be very helpful to her during her career in the Military...Sometimes people are just immature and don't understand..just because somebody is blessed...probably just jealousy is all...
Best Wishes
