Navy For Moms

Well I know that I wont see a letter for a little while but I am trying to get ready to send him some as soon as I get his address. I have bought 2 cards one for everyone at my work to sign and write in and one from myself and my husband and youngest son to write in, I have also started having everyone I know write something to him on facebook I am going to print them out and send them with the cards I have also started a day to day letter to him just a little of what we are doing every day I hope this all helps him make it.  Cant wait to hear from him

I had everyone I knew write to our son while he was in boot camp.  I kept a sheet of labels in my purse and any time I saw somebody I knew, I gave them a label and asked them to write a note of encouragement to him.  Some days he got over 10 letters, some from folks he didn't know, but, he said it really helped.  I wrote to him every day that he was away.  Some days it was just goofy stuff, some days sports scores, etc.  Most days I started in the morning and just added thoughts as they came to me.   One day I wrote a letter from the cats!   A whole page of "meow, meow",  "purr", etc.  He joked about the stupid stuff I wrote, but, when he graduated, he still had every one.  Good luck and good luck to your son.

I have been writing letters too, even though I don't have the address yet.  I have printed the NBA draft picks, Soccer scores and I'm waiting for the CWS scores.  Thanks for the ideas about the labels.  Great idea!  It helps a lot to know others are going through what I am.  Day 5 almost done.

My son was in boot camp and people said to not send colored envelopes. My son's RDC didn't care. Some RDCs seem to make the recruits do push ups for things that stand out.
