Moving to Everett, WA. Could use a little advice, PLEASE =D

Well my husband just got orders for the USS ABe Lincoln in Everett, WA. I heard that he would have to commute to Bremerton, WA which is a 2 hour commute everday, is this true? Also there is no on base housing, does anyone have any advice on where to live? I'm a little confused on how to get going, with the move, expense, and other things. Any and all advive is appreciated! THANK YOU!

I live in the Northwest and My advice to you is get a good rain coat, cause it rains up here all the time. Also, get ready to breath so good clean air..We have that up here too. where are you moving from?

If you haven't already, join the Lincoln group: http://www.navyformoms.com/group/anyonewithasailoronussabelincoln
You'll get many of your questions answered. My son is on the Lincoln. It is in Bremerton and he has a barracks room in Bremerton (he is single).

HI Elizabeth, my son and his wife moved from Florida to Everrett over a year ago! Have you talked to housing in Seattle...My son and his wife got there "own' apartment at first-then moved into military housing!-Are you are the list for housing??? If not I suggest you get on it right away! The base will be helpful in helping you find housing, especially rentals that work with the Navy, so no deposit and if you have to move suddenly, there "should'not be " a problem!!! Its just takes alot of phones and a list of questions, Good luck!

Question is there a group for mother's of Senior Chief's? My son is stationed at the Bangor Sub Devron 5 base in Silverdale, Wa. It would be nice to talk to other mother's whose son has made the Navy a life career.

If you need to look for off base housing check out this website. The landlords on here only rent to Military People.

Hi
There is some websites that you can look at online for apartments in Bremerton. The weather in Everett and in that area is rainy a lot. I used to go to Everett very often to visit my step daughter. The Lincoln I think is supposed to be in port for about a year or more. But go to apartment websites in the Bremerton Area. Some of them offer military discounts.
