Navy For Moms

My baby boy is changing fast, into what you might ask
Not a thug or a drug dealer
My baby boy is a sailor!

He is taking the steps to lead the way
to a new beginining a brighter day
To protect his country, and stand tall
to make his way against it all

I am so proud I must admit
he found his way, a way to get away from it.
The drugs, the gangs, the unemployment.
As he faces his deployment

He is scared and so am I
So many people ask me why
How could you let him, leave you alone,
and I say to him, my boy is grown.

I must let him go, as you will see
my little boy is coming back to me
A man, a strong man, a reliable man
A man that can face a problem head on
and come out on top.
My little boy will be the cream of the crop.

I love him with all of my heart,
and as we spend these days apart
I feel like a hole is in my heart.
I feel that my world has been taken away,
but I look forward to the day, when I can hug him
and truely say, I'm proud of all of the desicions you've made.

This is very exciting indeed. Watching him transform into a man. I share in your pride for your son. You did a good job raising him and now you/we can let the Navy polish them up.
Bless you.

What a beautiful poem!!! I am at work so I am trying to hold back the tears :):) Your son will amaze you with his growth and his pride in becoming a sailor. My son loves being a sailor and is so proud of his decision to join the Navy!
