Navy for Mom's 3rd Annual Holiday project
2 years ago Navy for Mom's Holiday project was born. Two months into their 2009/2010 deployment, the USS Nimitz Strike Group learned their deployment had been extended from 6 to 8 months which meant 6000 plus sailors & Marines would spend the holidays in the Arabian Sea rather than home with family & friends. The Nimitz moms came up with an idea to send holiday goodies to boost the crews morale. With less than 2 months to get everything together, including permission from the command, we were able to send more than 6500 goodie bags & stockings.
Due to the projects overwhelming success, I decided to make this an annual event. So each year we choose one Strike group (an aircraft carrier, air wing and 4 or 5 smaller ships) that will be deployed during the holidays. Last year we sent 5000 gifts to the USS Truman. This year we are sending holiday goodies to the USS Stennis (CVN 74) Strike group.

House of Jerky has a solid following and traditionally sends hundreds of bags of Jerky to the troops during the holiday season. This is the first year that she has changed from Soldier's Angels to N4M. (proud Aunt of a new Sailor).
Donations by 2nd-3rd week of November will be sent when the Goodie Bags are being sent. But, she will continue to amass donations after that and send a second batch too.
This is my sister, so I say,,,, let's make her donate lots and lots. Order away Moms, 1/4lb is $10.50 ..... Sibling rivalry at its best.
