I made reservations for the Days Inn...the cost is $88 a night for military families. They provide a shuttle service that starts at 6:20am and goes every 10-15 minutes. I spoke to a lady by the name of Larisha. 1 1/2 mile from base

We've booked with the Residence Inn in Waukegan.

We are staying almost a full week, sortof making a vaca out of the visit. So we wanted a place that we could cook in and bring our dogs. Looks like a great place, but I've not been there yet. The staff so far has been extremely helpful! good luck!

There is a site - Kayak.com - it will pull up all the hotels and motels in the area and give you the distance from the base.

First visit there for graduation we stayed at the Springhill Suites in Waukegan. New hotel, free breakfast, about 8 minutes from the base. Two weeks ago I was out for his corpsman graduation and we stayed at the Residence Inn in Waukegan. Very, very nice. Both hotels offer military rate discounts. Just mention you are coming for a navy graduation. The Courtyard Marriott is close by as well. Make your reservations as early as you can. They book up fast.

Just got the official invitation for Ashley's graduation. They send you a pamplet with all kinds of information inside of it. There is a listing of Hotels & other things to do, that are close to the base and provide shuttle service to the base. Like the one I sent to you has. I'm even more excited now that I have it in my hands. I changed our reservations since the original date was the 7th of August now it's the 31st of July! But she's well worth it...
