Navy For Moms

I am not really sure what I'm doing but I just created a group called November Bootcamp Family. I got the idea from the October Bootcamp Family, thanks for the idea. If you have a son/daughter that has shipped or will ship in November please join this group. We can support each other. Give each other ideas on how to cope and let each other know when packages, graduation info and first letters start to arrive.

My daughter Kayla, shipped from Fort Hamilton in NY on Tuesday, November 3. I know there are others here that had a recruit ship that day. Come join me.

Hey great idea!! (I started the October group) - Watch out though......I must warn you that you will find many, many lifelong friends doing this!! It's wonderful!! Good luck to you and your group! If I can help out in any way please ask....I'm no expert, but I'll do what I can!

Thanks Carole. I could use some life long friends. One of my best friends just left for bootcamp.

Hey Donna, My son leaves on Sunday, Nov. 8th. I hope I don't forget to send something he might need. Very glad you started this group. I've been looking for others leaving in Nov.

Pam just know everyone here has been there or will be there. Be strong for him he maybe having second thoughts. Don't let on. Just be there. I sat for an entire week watching SVU reruns with no conversation at all. Every time I got up to do house work my daughter would call me back and ask me to just sit with her.

Anyway, send with him phone cards, some cash, and stamps. Everything else they will provide him. If he takes too much it will just get sent home. They say that the recruits will call you when they get to bootcamp. Some parents do not get that call. So, keep an eye on this site and maybe you'll touch base with some other parent whose recruit is leaving from same base as your son. Maybe they get the call and you don't or vise versa.

That's what happened with me. I got a call and another mom didn't. Our kids shipped together and she said it made her feel better knowing that if my girl got there okay then so did her son. There is a two week period that you won't be able to make contact. Take a breath now and when you need us just sign on here or on the chat tab. We will be there for you 24/7. The chat has been my salvation. Be strong and keep checking this site. It is a blessing.

My son ships out on the 16th of November and I really don't know what I am going to do. I just joined this site for some support. He has a twin sister but he is the youngest by 3 min and I have been spoiling him rotten lately due to the fact I won't see him for a while. I will miss him sooooooo much. He was the easy child out of the 3 I have. He is a good kid all around. How do you cope?

Thanks for starting this group up Donna! Your response to Carole made me cry and I think that is precious that you're daughter needed your presence, words or no words.
