New To Navy Life and about to be on our first deployment!!

My Husband and i just recently got married while he was home on leave after his basic training, he is now in Bremerton, Washington, as of last friday and we found out he will be deploying towards the end of this month, so im headed up there to spend a few days with him before he leaves for his long deployment im very scared and torn about this deployment because it will be very long, and our first one im also excited to get it out of the way first hand so he will be home for awhile after, but does anyone have any suggestions on how to make the time fly by and keep strong?

Get involved in something that interests you.

If you need support contact your command Ombudsman.  Also check out the Fleet and Family Service Center.  Ifyou haven't hear about COMPASS you also need to check the program out - www.gocompass.org.

Your command should also have a Family Readiness Group.

You can still contact the ombudsman, and also check out COMPASS.  Navy FamilyLine also have lots of resources for new Navy wives.

While he's deployed you need to do something for you - make sure you're not just sitting at home waiting for him.

In regards to Tiger Cruise most commands do not allow wives or gf's to take them so be prepared for that.

The Ombudsman is the liasion between the command and the families.  It is a civilian appointed by the CO and is usually a spouse.  This person should be your first point of contact for any problems you may have - military or not, but can only give information and referrals, she can't solve the problems for you!
