one year in the navy

In a few days we will be passing the one year mark of Daniels joining the navy. As I look back on that year, one thing I know for sure, God answers prayer, and two, Thank God for navyformoms.
I was on the internet within hours of his leaving for boot camp. Somehow I stumbled onto navyformoms, and there they were, other Moms knowing exactly what I was going through. Steve had passed away 6 months before and I was not ready to let Daniel go. Some asked how I could do it, I had to laugh, I had nothing to do with Daniels joining. I really didn't want him to leave.
I would go in his room while he played his video games and quietly just put my head on his shoulder as if I could hold onto that moment in months to come. Every test he has had to pass, he has done well, every trial, he has come through, he has grown and become a awesome young man. We are soooooo proud of him.
Thanks again Marie for starting this group, we are all connected by having our sons and daughters in the same area. And what a great place to be, it so lovely. I am looking forward to knowing the area well. Thanks everyone for letting me walk down memory lane. And Happy Mothers Day to everyone
