Navy For Moms

I just visited the Recruit Training Command website again and read it more thoroughly and one of the FAQ was, 'How often will my recruit be able to make phone calls?' This is their answer:
Recruits are only permitted to make three phone calls home during their time onboard Recruit Training Command. However, no news is good news as recruits are granted additional phone calls if something goes wrong (i.e. they are injured, do not pass a test, etc.).

So, I am not going to focus too much on that anymore...instead I will await the letters I HOPE to receive and just keep writing him! :)

No news is good news. You just have to keep telling yourself that to keep yourself sane. Of course, if you have a cell phone keep it on you at all times and make sure your recruit has a phone card because you never know when a call might come. All the moms in my son's division expected a phone call on Mothers Day. Of course, I knew that would be too good to be true, and it was.

Extra phone privileges can be earned by the Sailors and or the Div. during basic.

My son has called once since the initial 30 second call because he was made the guidon and he didn't know when and if he would be able to call again. No letter yet either. :( I still send him a letter every other day! :) I miss my boy! Counting the weeks and days is getting way tough for me; I am too old to wish for time to pass! I don't have enough of it left! haha

I just found out through the grapevine that my son isn't even getting any of his letters because they are holding them until their whole division passes a certain test...what would that test be at this stage of the game?
That sucks for them! All those encouraging words aren't getting to them when they need them most!

He will know the difference from letter one to letter twenty cause I dated them; I hope he pays attention to that! I just know he will be amazingly happy to get them all when he does and there are a lot of them from myself, his sisters and alot of his other close family members. I am sure they will pass it this week; especially if it is a physical test.

LeAnn, remember the grapevine is the grapevine.I may be all wrong but somewhere in my many years of being around the military am not too sure that they can do that. Ask Hopi, she is knowledgeable in that..

Actually, they can. Even his recruiter said they will do things like that to motivate them. It isn't like the military hasn't done worse.
