Navy For Moms

Just some info. I got from Navy For Dads...kinda cool to know what they are doing this week!

Week 3.
Reality check: This week, you’ll board a land-bound training ship. Everything will be hands-on — something your Recruiter told you the Navy is big on. Here’s the proof. You’ll learn everything from ship nomenclature to first aid techniques to semaphore (signaling with flags). All the real-world lessons you’ll need to survive in the Navy world. Classroom studies will focus on Customs and Courtesies, laws of armed conflict, money management, shipboard communication, Navy ship and aircraft identification, and basic seamanship.

Step up for the first of two physical training tests — curl ups, sit-reaches, push-ups and a 1.5-mile run. Good luck — but if you don’t pass the first time, your Recruit Division Commander will work with you to ensure you do next time. That’s because success is everybody’s goal in the Navy — not just yours.

Awesome week 3 my son will enjoy this and next week weapons training very much. My son is I think graduating the same date as Colby 8/7. He is in a different division though, he is div275 shio 10. We just recieved our first letters today and he said he is enjoying it very much, he has already had his 1st PT test and siad he passed , but only 30 of 78 passed. He has always been into sports and outdoors and luckily worked out and ran before boot camp. Let's keep all in our prayers and good luck to Colby. God Bless

Hi~

Cool--Another Mom whose son graduates with Colby. I know they are not in the same division but it is still exciting to meet you! Yes, I believe that Colby passed the PT test too; the physical portion of basic isn't going to be tough for him. I bet weapons training next week will be exciting for them too!
Are you going to the meet n greet on August 6?
