Navy For Moms

I got my phone call!!!!! She just called and I got 17 mins with my sweet girl. She is feeling much better. The reason for not getting the call Tues was she had her wisdom teeth out that day. She said she was doing great and she is excited for the next few weeks. Thank God for answering prayers. I feel like I can breathe now.

Sherri, all of our prayers for you and your daughter were answered! I'm so very happy for you! There is always a valid reason as to why they haven't called, but at the time that your waiting for the call, all of those reasons escape us.

It's wonderful to hear that she is feeling better. What better news than that for a worried mom. We will always worry about them, no matter how old they are!

PIR will be here before you know it. Thanks for keeping us updated and stay strong. you CAN do this.

Thank you ebigirl for all the prayers. I know I can do this now...I just needed to hear her tell me she was ok. Graduation can't come soon enough! Thanks again.

I hear you Sherri. When my son called after battlestations, he was so sick he forgot what he was calling for! It was the first phone call I had received since the initial "I'm here, I'm ok, bye" call. I was in tears and said, "do you have something to tell me honey"??? "Oh yeah" in a weak voice, "I'm a United States Sailor". With that I started balling, and he was having a hard time understanding why I was crying!

I made him promise me he would go to medical, and he did. He slept for the next two days. I will never ever forget that phone call. Stay strong!

Oh my goodness...poor thing, I am looking forward to getting that last call. She sounded so good...she is ready for the next 3 weeks. Hopefully she has all her sickness done and over with..lol. Thanks again for listening to me whine. I know there are other moms out there who went through much worse when their child was away at boot camp. My daughter and I have a very close relationship so this has been pretty tough but I am doing it! Thanks to you guys talking me through all this. Have a good day!

Sherri.  Just wondering when you're daughter started bc.  My daughter went to bc on July 27th.  Wondering when i might hear from her?

Mama B  I think you meant JUNE 27 so that means she's been in BC for about 2 weeks.  Did you get that first call when she landed there?  (10 seconds-I'm okay, I'm here, love you -bye??)  Anyway--I didn't get a call from my son until between 2-3 weeks.  and got only 1 more after that and that was all.  They were brief. He said something like: our unit did good so we earned a call, some of us marched good so we get to make a call.  There is no rhyme or reason, sadly.  Some sailors never get a phone call home until BATTLE STATIONS!  "Stand by" for that one!  It often is made early, early morning-Chicago Time-don't miss it--it's memorable!

I stand corrected:  I meant his first call was between 4-5 weeks into BC.
