Thanks for welcoming me in! My son has already had so many adventures with relation to the Naval Academy alone. He will be going submarines! I do find that a little scary. But I am so very proud of all of his accomplishments!

Eric had been in the delayed deployment program since last fall. He is expecting to go to A school for Culinary Specialist. He studied Hotel / Restaurant Management in college. He is a fine young man and we miss him so much. We are so very proud of him and his decision to join the Navy! Thanks for the welcome! This site is a blessing!

Hello. This is new for me, so please be patient. My son's A school is intelligence speciallist but he is waiting for rescue swimmer testing. I do have one question. He is not scheduled to leave for 11 months, is that common?

Hello Pat, Thank you for the welcome. My son is in the Nuclear Propulsion Power Program and off to the bootcamp stage in Newport OCS. We have 4 children, my son's wife and 2 babies to help with the long abscence of my son. I am proud of his choice to serve. Having military in the family is not new. My uncle was in the Navy, we have Airforce, and Army too for brotherinlaws, nieces, nephews. The Navy is something my son always desired. I wish him well and do miss him, but am so proud. Take care. My son, Cyle (24), is stationed in Bahrain currently as an EN3. I'm comfortable with him as he is completing his 4th year. My soon to be 18 year old, Andrew, will leave for basic training next summer. The brothers are opposites - Andrew is extremely passive and quiet - his joining makes me nervous. Even though I've been through this before with Cyle - this one is different.

Hi, Pat -- thanks for the warm welcome. My son, Clay (21) is at Boot Camp now -- reported on July 1. This site has been so helpful in showing me what he's going through. Clay will be in the Nuke program in Charleston after graduation.

Thank you. My son is done with BC on July 24 and then he goes to Pensacola for training in Aviation Ordnanceman. I'm not going to the grad but his father and brother are going. Alex is 20 and I was really surprised when he said he wanted to enlist but I'm so proud of him. I'm a VA nurse for 27 years so I take care of soldiers and sailors everyday.

Hi Pat and thank you for the welcome!! After bootcamp she will arrive in Pensecola Fla. and her rating will be CTR. We are so excited to see her graduate on the 31st! We just made our reservations for that weekend and now trying to decide how to spend it with her while we are there. Just being with her and listening to her experience over the last several weeks will be good enough for me!! I just pray for her everyday and try to write as much as possible and put the rest in Gods hands. I am just so proud of her!!

Hi Pat thanks for the welcome. MY Son is getting married in 9 days. He is stationed in Washington in communications. My Daughter is in the Air National Guard, and is in Virginia with her husband, who is a SEAL. All the kids have been in the Philippines 2times, 3 tours in Kuwiak, a year in Iraq, and multi times in Iraq and surrounding countries. When my kids were born I had hopes they wouldn't have to be doing this, but coming from a military proud family I am proud of each and very one of them, and all the kids who serve our country. We should all be proud. This is THE HOME OF THE FREE BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE.

Thank you for the warm welcome. My husband has been in the Navy for almost 16 years. We have two children ages 11 and 16. We have been stationed in Yokosuka, Japan for the past 4 years. I am an Ombudsman for my husband's command. I joined Navy for Moms to meet families from our command, USS George Washington. Yes the Yorkie in the picture is one of our two dogs, his name is Miko. As you can see he's a handful.

Shannon my one and only child graduated from USNA Annapolis in '04 and went EOD Navy Diver. She just returned from deployment in Bahrain and is now back in Virginia. And no, Shannon is the brunette in the red jumpsuit getting ready to dive... skydiving the blond in purple, that's me doing a tandem jump with an instructor. I've been in IT (Information Technology) for over 35 yrs.
