There are lot's of places near Hanes Mall and that would be about half way. I have always enjoyed the Village Tavern, but there are several places in that area or we could just go get some Barbeque, Mexican or a Pizza. You decide and I'll do my best to be there. I am going out of town for a few days to take care of my cousin who is having shoulder surgery. Leaving the 1st and won't be back until the 5th. Let me know when and where.

Hi Ginny!
Let do get together soon. Everything is settling down now Matt is planning to come home for Thanksgiving so it's not too far off. Aparently he and Chelsae are getting really serious. Matt said that he wants to propose over the holiday. He said they went looking for rings the other day and his hand was shaking so bad he couldn't get this ring off. I hope he waits for a whil, but they seem to think that they will be mor likely to get stationed together if they are married. I told him that he could have one of the diamonds (it was my Mother's) out of my ring.So I'll be out a reing or if not wearing cubic zerconium..

Ginny, I LOVE all your new pics. Who is the other good looking man with Robert? Is that your other son? Did you all stay at the Comfort Inn when Robert first graduated from Boot Camp? I seem to recognize the back ground! We stayed at the Confort Inn when Jason graduated. We stayed at the Ramada when we went up in Aug. Thanks for welcoming Matthews Mom. She seems like a very nice person! I definitely want to get together with everyone for dinner. Maybe we can meet at another restaurant, since we will have more time! I am having fun with Jason home, but boy oh boy do have the laundry to do!!!!!!!! Not to mention more cooking also! It is amazing how quickly we forget! Anne

He's only been in prototype for about 5 weeks. The first approximately 7 weeks they still go Monday-Friday. After that, they get down to business with real type sub schedules and have very little time to contact anyone.

Ginny---actually, my son made the calls to several insurance companies, and liked the USAA price AND set up of payday withdrawals the best. It's an 800 phone number, which of course I can't get my fingers on right now. Have Robert ask on base for the number.

Great looking family! He's an awesome looking sailor, too. He may get tired during Power School. My son is so happy to be in prototype, even if the hours are really long. He'd much rather be doing something than sitting and studying. He did have to roll back a couple of weeks in power school due to illness there, but it worked out just fine in the long run.

Hi Ginny (Robert's Mom) Thank you for the welcome! My son just left last Tuesday 9/15 for boot camp. And he will go to A-school & then nuke school too afterwards in Charleston. We live in Randleman. I was working in Winston & that's how I happen to meet Anne. A friend of mine Sherrie who's son is in the Coast Guard & daughter is also in the service (I forgot which branch) is the one who initially told me about Navy for Moms.com. But I had only been on a few times. It was a great encouragment to hear Anne & her daughters enthusiam (sp?) aout this site. It would be great to plan another get together. I knew about the one at Elizabeth's Pizza in Greensboro, but could not make it. Wednesday nights are out for me we attend our church & I do kid sitting as well at church. I am using Matthew's last civilian picture as my wall paper on my phone so I can look at him because I am missing him & pray for him as well. I have probably went on for too long so, TTFN! Thank you again.

Hi Ginny, So good to hear from you! Love that new pic of Robert! I posted some pictures of Jason, but I don't think you will be able to see them until they are approved. Please check in a couple of days. I finished his banner and I have it on my page. We are having a great time, but he his spending a lot of time this weekend with the girlfriend. He will be working at the Recruiting office next week. He has to report for duty Oct. 4. He is excited that the Dixie Classic fair will be in town right before he leaves, so he will be attending that. Please look again on my page or the NC Moms page. A new lady "Matthews Mom" has a son that went to boot camp last Wednesday. I met her while she was working at Walmart yesterday (I had my US Navy Mom shirt on) and she asked me where I got it. Jessica then told her about N4Moms and she was already a member, but I told her to look me up AND SHE DID!!!! I think her son will be in the Nuke program, so you might want to touch base with her! Don't forget to check my pics in a couple of days. Thanks for your good wishes! Anne

Matt has not said anything about the room. Why so many more nukes? Is it just more people going into the Navy?
I know you were lonely with both of your sons gone. I think I told you my oldest jsut moved back in so I could use the solitude. In case you are wondering why I am responding so early, I was up at midnight looking for a couple of guys who have been stealing newspaper racks. We have had 20 stolen in the last two weeks. Unbelieveable that someone would remove a rack from in front of a store, break into the thin and sump it for no more than about $20.00 in quarters. Problem is that the racks at about $400.00 and can't be repaired.

I'll do it. Matt is coming to see me at work on his way back to GC today. He has to report at 0700 Tuedays so will travel today. I will miss him, but need to catch up on my sleep. I have been staying up late just to spend time with him. He said he might come home again before Thanksgiving but I kinda doubt it. Once power school starts, he will be busy with his studies. I will definately try the Villas for our next trip. How did you get in touch with them?

Hi Ginny, Great to hear from you! How long is Robert in town? You will have to put some updated pictures on your site from when he was here!!!! Jason found out that he will be stationed in Little Creek, Va (Norfolk). He will be working on Hovercrafts. Originally he said he is supposed to report 9/30/09. He also said that he gets two weeks before that date. But, he does not take his last test until the 16th. So that doesn't add up!!!! I am not sure if and when he will be home. I DID make a quilted banner for when he does show up though! I am finishing it up today! School is very busy, but I am enjoying being in one place the whole week...thanks for asking! Take care, keep in touch. Anne

It sure will be hard. By the way, how were The Villas?

We are enjoying Jason being home, but the days are going too quickly. I will be driving him back on Sunday. Jason has been able to visit with several of his high school friends and has gotten to eat at some of his favorite places. Tell Robert hello and to enjoy the rest of this week.

I know exactly waht you mean about dreading the return to GC for our sailors. We are having a good time. Matt brought Chelsa home for the long week-end and took her back Monday. My stepdaughter came in from Kentucky so we had a little welcome home party and ended up with 34 for Barbeque and the trimings. I have been cooking up a storm taking requests Matt said he had put on 4 pounds since he got home. Tell Robert to check with Larry Whicker for a car. He does have a website so it would save him a drive to K-Ville if he doesn't see anything he likes. I told Matt that Robert might be riding back to GC with him and he said that would be great.

Hi Ginny,
It was so nice to meet you, too. I know you are as proud of Robert as I am of Jason and Jared. The graduation ceremony was so nice and personal. We had a wonderful time visiting with both boys Friday and Saturday. We all left today. Jared was going Motorcycle riding today, before going back to Beaufort, and the rest of us came back to Alabama.

The Villas are in Goose Creek, SC. Is your sailor in the Nuke program now?

They are actually on the base within the married housing area. In order to rent, you will need to go to the Naval Welfare and Recreation office. If you have been to the base before, you know where the Mini NEX/Subway is. It's the place where we always met our son when we went to visit. the NWR is across the street from there. I am not sure if your sailor needs to make the reservations or not. My son was with us when we made ours. They are called Foster Creek Villas. I just found the brochure we had. There is no website but here is the phone number for them: (843) 764-2120. There aren't very many so they fill up fast.
