I won't be avavilable on Nov. 14th or the 20th. 14th:our youth Dept. having a Car Show.20th-going out of town to go see a sailor grad from A School. I am glad that Nick is doing fine- I'm sure Ashley seems lost right now. Give her big hug for me.

Hi Mary -- Just thought I'd let you know I received an hour long call from my son today. He made my afternoon -- it was sure nice to talk with him. His PIR is 10/30 -- and we can't wait to see him. Anyways -- he indicated his rate is FC! He indicated he would check in across the street after PIR. We're sure hoping we have the weekend with him!!

Hey Mary, we don't know yet. He is on his 5th week of boot camp so far. When did they let you all know about your son?

Hey Mary, Thank you so much fo rthinking of me. Josh is doing very well. He is stationed in Gulfport MS and he likes it. He is getting ready to deploy to the big "A" at the first of the year. SO- I am trying to deal with all sorts of feelings about that. Congrats of your daughter- Savannah has some absolutely breath taking places to have a ceremony. Let me know, I would be honored to send you pics, brochures and I even have quite a few great friends in the wedding businesses down here.

How is your sailor? Looks like everything is going good. Take care and Bless you friend- and I will try to get on more.. I do get on but just neve have time to write much-

Hey Mary! Thanks so much for the comments :-) I tell you what, I have NEVER seen Garett so happy!! He is definitely in his "element". Garett was moved over to the dorms last week, getting ready for his A school which is suppose to start by Oct.19th if not sooner. He stays in GL for A school. He really likes his dorm. He shares it with one roommate. He got his cell a week ago and it's been nice getting to talk to him almost everyday! As soon as Alli and Emily are done with PIR, we definitely need to meet for lunch...I am praying for them both! I hope Nick is doing well In HI and enjoying his new job! Take care...

Hello Mary - thanks for the welcome. It was an exciting weekend and it's such a treat to be able to talk with my daughter almost every day. Her rating is FC and she's just begun indoc for her A school. Not sure where C school will be for her - VA or San Diego, I think. How wonderful about your son going to HI. I am a navy brat myself and lived there for 6 years. I loved Pearl. Congrats to your son (love the pics) and to your family. You take care!

Hi Mary, We have not heard anything new from B. J. since Friday about him being held back on Battle Stations. He stated that he would still graduate on Friday. My dad is driving up on Wednesday (today) and we are flying up on Thursday AM. Worst case scenario is that we all get up without knowing if he passed B/S. If he does not pass will they allow us tosee him because of these special circumstances? Please any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Mary,

Thanks for the great advice! I have joined the BC group and as soon as I get my sailors PIR info I will join that group also. I sure hope the 8 weeks go by quickly. So far it feels like I'm moving in slow motion.

How are things with your sailor? I hope he's doing well.

Hugs,

Hi Mary! Thanks for welcoming me into the group! Yes, this is my husband's PIR week! The days need to move along faster lol! I imagine william in his sailor blues and it makes me teary eyed. My husband got his papers last week stating he will be in the FC program. Says he will be there for 30wks, but I'm sure he'll be put on hold from what I've been told from others on the site. I'll have to join your group for the wives club. KIT

Hi Mary! It was so great to get a comment from you. Yes my husband is graduating Oct 9th, and he just found out that he will be able to be a FC (the one he wanted) How does your son like it? How did your husband like it? How long and where was C school? And Hawaii?? How cool!! Does he like it over there?

Are their advantages to the Aegis? I know my hubby has been talking about that a lot...I guess I am just trying to understand the differences in them all. Are there really pros and cons to certain systems? I dont know...prob sounds crazy, but since i know nothing about any of them it seems to me there wouldnt really be a good verses bad choice...maybe I should follow up on my homework ha ha ha!! I am falling behind now

She has a 5 year contract, w/ orders for 3 years in Hawaii. If she chooses not to re-enlist she would have to stay in Hawaii for 2 additional years which woud be until June 2012. Supposedly the Navy doesn't want to invest in additional training which she'll need if she goes to a ship unless she re-enlists. I think it has to do with the type of work they do at her secretive command. She does IT & Intelliegence so it's very different than what IT's do on a ship. Seems like the Navy is trying to save money but yet she's going to go to C school. Go figure.

Thanks Mary! I was just curious as to where each one was. I will have to look into each of them. I just like to know what it is that hubby is talking about sometimes ha ha ha. I dont know the differences in anything. Sometimes I just have to nod and agree and say "oh wow, really" lol....
