Thank you for the welcome Karen. Brian is our oldest son and have one that keeps coming back.. He is not sure about life at the moment, but did any of us know what we wanted at 20??? The Navy works for Brian and he took his first college classes this past quarter/semester. Hope he takes another class. Thanks again Sally

Hi Karen, thank you for welcoming me. I have a lot to learn. My son will start boot camp the end of October. We live in NC. It would be great to be able to communicate with some of the mothers of new recruits that are going to boot camp the same time as my son. He was going to go into the Naval Reserves to help w/school. He just finished his sophomore yr at ECU but decided to go all the way. He will start to Nuk program in January. We are very proud of him. He has turned into a remarkable young man. Raelyn

Thank you for your welcome. My oldest son, Eric is currently on the USS Ronald Reagan and is headed out to sea. His wife is expecting their first baby and he will not be here for the birth. That has been very hard. My youngest son, Tommy left last Tues. for boot camp and I must say I am missing him more than I thought I would. I don't know what's up with his recruiter, but he doesn't like to return my phone calls. Unlike the first one who was so kind and helpful!!!!! I love this website and I'm so glad I decided to jump on. I love my boys and I'm so glad they are us sailors!!!!!

Thank you for your welcome! Our son Asa is Damage Control/Fireman on the USS Abraham Lincoln. Right now they are in dry dock in Bremerton, WA. We are trying to save for a trip out there next spring. Asa told us that there is some sort of lodging for family members near the base, so maybe that will help out a bit. Right now the trip is just in the planning stages! At this time it does not look as if he will reenlist, so we especially want to see the ship before he gets out. Especially for his dad who was Navy also, as were both of his parents in WWII.

howdy friend! Mary's trying to help me find cheap rates for Patrick's C school graduation July 2nd. Navy Lodge is booked up and I need a place to stay July 3 - July 6 in San Diego. Maybe I should camp out in front of that car dealership, LOL!

Hi Karen, thanks for your kind words. Scott is currently in Saratoga Springs for 6 months and then will go on tour sometime in October, he will be the nuclear personell on board. He has recently changed his cell nbr and his Dad ( we're divorced) won't return my call. Is there a way to find an email address. I do not even have a picture of my son in uniform. I know he is upset with me but I want to reconnect. Any suggestions

Hi Karen! Thank you so much for being so proactive and welcoming me to N4M - which I love! This is a great site! You ladies who have been doing this longer than us newbies are amazing! I have already found out so much "stuff". I'm wondering.......how long do I wait to bug the recruiter for the address if I don't get a letter soon (like today!)? My son Gino "G" arrived in GL at 2 AM on May 27 because of flight delays. Do all the guys HAVE to wait until Sunday for that first letter? Thanks a bunch!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome! My son Brandon is at boot camp right now - this will be his second week. This site has already helped me so much. I am grateful to those who are sharing their experiences with us so we can know what to expect and help us prepare for the time ahead. God bless you all!

Thank you for welcoming me. Right now I'm a little disappointed in the navy and our recruiter. My son was under the impression he would be in the nuclear program and after passing the test and then asked to take anoher test, which he passed also, was then told he had been out of school too long to qualify. I would have assumed the recruiter should have known this but apparently not. Matt has joined and is on a delayed entry until January 2010. I'm still proud of him and excited. Chris

Hi Karen! I'm on my way to work in a few minutes, but here are a few details about my son. Joe is a Navy Corpsman, has been in the military for about four years, and is currently stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA, awaiting deployment in September with the 11th MEU. Thanks to all for a warm welcome to your website. I will drop by later today or tomorrow with a few pictures and more details. Bye for now.

Thank you so much for the warm welcome. Steven left for boot camp the day after his 21st birthday. The graduation was AWESOME! Currently he is in Lemoore, CA completing his C school and from what I understand will be deployed sometime next month. His dad and I are planning to visit him this month. I can hardly wait.
