My sons father graduated from boot camp on 3/21/2008,her was in div 918 with Shawn berland(Diane's son/heathers husband RMD-Orlando,fl). He enlisted 01/22/2008,and is in till 01/21/2012 unless he reenlist. Yeah i have alot of pictures from the snow in good ol great lakes. It was so much fun driving in the snow for the first time. Wish i could have done more sight seeing there, but someday ill travel around and see all the navy locations(navy brat),who knows maybe ill marry me a sailor.
But yes good ol CV is a beautiful ship. My parents both served in the navy,a few of my uncles served in the navy, my grandfather was apart of the Korean war, im not sure what else. I know my mom side he brother was in the army. So coming from a long line of family history Ive learned a lot. I wish i could still join the military especially the navy, but my son is holding me back,my back issues, and of course weight requirements. But if it came to where i could do it, id jump at it in a heart beat. Let me know if your grandson graduated with my sons father Adam.
What a coincidence about your friend David, serving on Gaum as my husband was in navy in ww11 and was on Gaum then. Your son Jay is a cutie.yes there is a lot going on with sailors on c.v. And they are busy sailors. A lot learning thier jobs for real at sea as new sailors. My grandson steven is at sea for the first time. and loving it. as he has heard about navy and sea live from his grandpa since a very young boy. and desided by school age that was the life for him. and never ever faltered in that desision.
His Grand pa has a pirate girl tatoo on his right leg . It has facibnated steven all his life. so when he joined up his pa told him enjoy navy life. but son you better not come back with any tatoo,s, crazyest thing iI ever done lol. It is fading but still very visable.THE C.V IS A BEAUTIFUL SHIP.. Love the pictures all of you have shared with me. god bless and keep our sailors . Gram Haworth
thanks for the comment
My son name is Jay and hes three years old. The photos on my page are of his godfather/my best friend David who is serving over in Guam right now. My sons dad is in the navy as well for the past year, we don't have much communication like we used to, but maybe its just cause of all the things going on with the CV. well see if it changes over time.
Loved the pictures, what a handsome grandson you have...So glad you had a good time this past week-end & know there are many more in store for you my friend....

TALKED TO HIM LAST EVENING , HE IS HAVING THE TIME OF HIS LIFE. LIVING HIS DREAM.LOVE THE LOOK ON HIS PAS FACE WHEN THEY CHAT NAVY. IT IS SUCH A BLESSING TO SEE A JOUNG MAN DOING WHAT HE LOVES. AND MAKING NEW FRIENDS. AND MATURING IN A POSITIVE WAY. IN TODAYS WORLD.HE WILL GO BACK OUT TO SEA FRI. AND IS LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT.HE HAS OK FOR A 10 DAY LEAVE IN AUG.AND SO ARE WE. OUR LAKE WILL LOOK LIKE A POND TO HIM NOW. HA HA. WILL ASK HIM IF HE HAS WATER SKIED BEHIND THE C.V YET.
