Hi Doreen-
How's it going? I am so happy - Nate's orders are at Pax NavalAir Base in Maryland. He could've went to Bahrain, but told his dad he isn't quite ready. I am not quite ready either! LOL. But I know he will be for where he is going and I am very excited about it. We have friends who lived in 20 miles away from there when they lived in Maryland, so we have some first hand info about the area for Nate and us when we go visit.
Where is Taylor going? Hope it is somewhat close to what he wanted to be. (and you too.)
I can't believe how fast A school has been. It is flying compared to bc. Must be cuz we can talk, etc. to them!!
Anyway- have a good day and will talk to you later.

Justin had mentioned that when they get there orders if they were in the top 10 of their class that they get to pick where they want to go. Boy that seems really quite that he is already getting his orders. Everything will work out and Taylor will be fine he seemed like a strong adult. Justin called last night and was very depressed because he heard that he could be in medical hold for up to a month. He sees the doctor on Monday and then supposedly paperwork has to be approved. He says that his knee is bothering him put he doesn't want to say anything because he doesn't want to be there any longer than need be. You and me both cried because I feel so helpless and don't know what to tell him because I want him healthy but don't want him to stay there for very long. You will have to keep me updated as to where Taylor is going and don't worry everything will be great. He is living out his dream in the Navy and doing what he wants to do. Keep me updated!!

You have to update me on Taylor's schooling. How is he doing? I hope he is great. Justin went back to GL this morning and hopefully if he calls tonight he'll have more information on when he starts school. His tonsils are great and the process went very good he had no complications and it was wonderful having him home.

Doreen,
Welcome to the Iowa group. I am not sure if I welcomed you before or not. This web site is getting so big it is hard to keep up with everything anymore. Whe is "George" Iowa located? Do you have a personal email address you would be willing to share? See the post on the Iowa group.

Hi Doreen glad to hear that your son is doing good. Wow I guess they get sprayed right at the beginning huu? So do you think that the classing up in time has something to do with the test... if they don't pass is that what decides whether they get classed up or not? I have not asked my brother but I will ask tonight when I talk to him. I'm glad your son like his room mate. Is he going to A school for MA? Sorry I can't remember if I asked you that before.

Hi Doreen, Sorry for such a late response. I had not logged in for a while now. My brother was actually sent to Virginia (last minute decision). He was originally told he was going to San Antonio but I don't understand why the change in orders. I am however a bit upset becasue he got to Virginia Beach(Dam Neck Base) on the 1st of October but has not yet been classed up. He was told his classes wont begin until November 3rd (Hopefully they don't change the day again because when he first got there they told him Oct 13) we really, really would like him to come home for the holidays but who knows if that will now be possible. How is your son doing? I'll keep u posted. Thanks for all your help and support.

Hi Doreen,

Why the heck did they get pepper sprayed? Is that part of their training or does everyone go through that. Justin is doing great and it has been wonderful having him home. He will be leaving on Sunday and going to Green Bay to visit his girlfriend till Wed. He has to be back on base by Thursday morning and he wants to be there early. He sounds like he will be in the medical hold for about a week and then start school. He says when he is on medical hold he will have a job like working at the bc or clean up duty but at night they can go to the nex or leave the base till 9:00 kinda of like grad. weekend was. They have alot more freedom than at bc. He can use the phones everynight for as long as he wants but cannot have his cell phone until he starts school. I agree that A school sounds like college but with uniforms. Tell Taylor Hi from Justin and keep me updated on his progress.

Hi Doreen-
Talked to Nate today. They were pepper sprayed and said he thinks that is the worst part- was worse than gas chamber in BC!!! Anyway- Nate said they are done on 11/21- sounds like they are trying to get their schooling done cuz I didn't think he would start til next week-- Originally he told me he would be done 12-4 ? They have a 4 day weekend this weekend for Navy anniversary. That'll be a good break. I don't know about mail and packages yet. I need to send his laptop and misc. things. He said they will be getting wi-fi shortly. He told me to be sure to put CLASS / before his class numbers for mail. Nate bought his phone down there and got Sprint services w/ a plan to delay it if they were to go oversees and can't use it. Amazed he thought of it!! I told him to locate Taylor if he doesn't think I'm a nut!! Wasn't sure on his last name- with only 54 they will figure it out! LOL!! Just glad he is there. Some other boys in their Div are on hold and have to redo PT Tests at GL before going to Pensecola. Well I'll keep ya updated. I get wordy if you haven't figured that out. :) ha!!

Doreen- Have you talked to Taylor? I'm guessing he started with the others- Nate called and said they went ahead and started Mon or Tues and will be one 11/21. He likes the instructors and loves having a few more comforts and access to family and the world again- Hope all is well with you and your family!

Hi Doreen-How does your son like Lackland? My son seems right at home and is doing okay so far. We had a web cam conversation tonight-it's so nice to have more contact. My son said that he thought he might be home for Thanksgiving. How about yours?

Tell Taylor way to go!!! I am glad he likes his roommate thats always a good thing. Justin's surgery went great and he is doing better than anyone had expected. His girlfriend who goes to school in Green Bay picked him up and brought him home. It is so nice to have him home for 2 weeks. He has been going around town showing everyone how proud he is of his uniform and surviving bc. He returns to GL on the 16th and waits about a week to start school there. I'll keep you posted and you do the same.

I won't forget anything that happened this weekend anytime soon! Thank you for being so kind and raising such wonderful kids.

I told mikey you should start collecting ketchup packs from various restaurants and use them in place of packing peanuts in Tay's boxes.

Please keep in touch, as we have so much ahead of us!
