Havent sent yu any thing in a while. Your lucky to have them visit you. Have made plane reservations for our son for Thanksgiving weekend. He will be with us from the 2th trhu the 29th. Can hardly wait. That will be his first trip home since the 25th of june. Wow, we all have come along way. Hows your son the diver doing.
He is doing good, keeping up ;with the guys. Every day is a challenge. he is not complaining either. But working hard. is your son in the same area as ours. ? Miss the chatter in Boot Camp, but any way he will be coming home for Thanksgiving, and some days for Xmas. He wasnt coming home at first for Thanksgiving, but I think he needs to come home for a few days and relax and be with family. Then off to coronado, 4 hrs from us. Glad you typed to me. Jim is doing good, still looking for a job, but doing alot of honey do's. I am still at the bank. Can hardly wait to see our kid again, especially at home. Been since June 24th. Tooo long. Ha, Ha, compared to what it is going to be in about a year. What div is your son in.
Thank you for your response. I also read the post I think you posted regarding the airplane trip and the lunches for the soldiers......I cried! How come stories like that do not make the news??
We are getting so excited to meet every one at Meet and Greet. We will have name tags for sure. Big Hugs!
then no sleep with the anticipation of see our loved ones at PIR!!
Hi Bradlee's Mom, I just thinking of sending YOU a message. Is it really 3 1/2 weeks!? I have so much to do! You're right, the cat wants to be fed, the bills paid, dishes done, but I'm on Navy for Mom's! or writing to B. Guess I'm addicted big time!
Im glad you heard from him. It makes it easier when they tell us they are doing great. They are almost halfway through. I think the next few weeks will go faster for us than the first few did.
THANK YOU for your comments. We said our final goodbye to our son tonight. I was fine until I got back home and realized he won't be pulling in the driveway tonight. Whew....that was my reality check. I know it will get better.
Terry told me before he left that he would write me letters. But, if he earned any phone calls they would go to his girlfriend. Oh well, I can live with that. But, she hasn't gotten a call either. I got a letter Friday and she got one Saturday. Maybe they did well, but just don't have grades yet or maybe their calls will come soon. It's hard not knowing what is going on up there.
I am actually doing well today! My mom and I will be at the meet and greet so it would be really nice to meet her!
I am trying to figure out my military id, and thank you cards for the wedding today!
I am not sure where we are staying I need to call on that today! Thanks for the reminder!
What are you doing this weekend?
Nothing new here. I am hoping DJ has received the questionnaire and has time to fill it out today and drop in mail. I am reading from some moms in his division that their recruits asked for certain things to be mailed to them. DJ also asked for Clearisil face wash. Doug is going to put it in mail tomorrow. Keep me posted on what you hear. Paula
I saw a comment you made about your son volunteering to scrub toilets......I agree! Where did we go wrong when they were growing up?! I guess we should have had them call us RDC instead of Mom. Then maybe they would have learned all that when thy were little! LOL
By the way...my son is part of the Dirty Nine Crew...he mops the bathroom floor! (A talent he never possessed before!)
I have a friend whose daughter was in boot camp about a year ago. She said that they appreciate the little things after graduation, like a long, hot shower and a relaxed meal at a restaurant. In bootcamp everything is "hurry-up". They are required to be in uniform at all times in public. We can bring them some sweats or shorts to wear in the room relaxing. But they can't step out of the room unless they are in uniform.
