I've been on the road and not checking my mail as often as I should! Devin called me last night and told he met you - said "Mom, I met one of your N4M friends today!" I said you met Scott's mom didn't you, and he just laughed, he said he should have known he couldn't surprise me! I'm glad you're having a good time and I'm sure Scott was thrilled to be able to show off his Mom! I could have gotten that frame for you, they have a bunch at the CB here. My Mom also got me a beautiful one at of all placed the post office this Christmas! It's the "Military Mom's Prayer" frame. I'll have to write down what it says, maybe I can take a picture of it, it's very moving. Needless to say it has a prominent spot on our living room wall! Can't wait to see your pictures and hear all about your trip! Travel safe!
I think he's coming here because it's cheaper! LOL - I paid airfare and he knows I'll keep him fed well! Now my older son is boohooing that he wants to come home too, told him he and his wife are welcome to come but they need to get themselves here, I'm still paying off my part of their wedding! LOL
Hi Sue! I'll forward that pic to you, my e-mail is sapurv@aol.com so you don't think it's spam! That's great that you're heading up to VA! Devin is flying in for the 4th of July weekend, our grandson turns 3 on the 4th and of course he has to have a special party with Uncle Dev coming home! I'm hoping to take a trip up to VA in Sept.
Hi Sue - I belong to Sailors in A School and noticed your son graduated already and you attended the ceremony. What time was it done? I'm trying to get a flight back that day and I don't want to cut myself short but I also understand the ceremony itself isn't very long. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hi Sue... Jerm is home for 18 days!!! He is now leaving on May 4th for Italy. I will have all three of my men home today and really excited. tell Scott to keep working hard and he will love his lab and clinicals...
Hi Sue... Tell Scott congrats on C school. Jerm did not get to pick C school, they only had two to choose from when he picked and one was dental tech. He had a good GPA but not that good. But he is looking forward to Italy. He flys home tomarrow, we think for 14 days before going overseas. I was so sorry to hear about your Dad. I am glad Scott got to come home, as I know it was hard on the whole family. But tell Scott his Grandpa is always watching, and he would be so proud of him. Good to hear from you.
Nice to see your son go to a "C" School for surgery tech. My son graduates this Friday from Corpsman "C" School in Virginia for Optician Tech. He will be home shortly on leave before being deployed to Japan at a Naval Air Facility Clinic for at least the next three years.
Our sons were fortunate to have received the opportunity to attend "C" Schools and receive specialized training that will provide valuable, marketable skills.
Hi Sue.. I am sorry to hear about you Dad. It was probaby nice to have Scott home, just not under the circumstances. And yes Jeremy is very excited about Italy. When it came time to pick orders there were only two C schools and Jerm picked 3rd, so he decided to go with some thing new and exciting. Grad date is still April 10th as far as I know. Jerm is finishing up his clinicals and is loving it. He said he chose the right field to be in. He is doing clinicals at the hospital and he said he is learning so much. He will be in Italy for 2 years and has been told he will get to come home before going for 21 days. Don't know if that is correct or not but I can only hope. When will Scott get to pick his orders??? Alot of the guys who picked orders with Jerm found out today they will do FMTB before going to there duty station.. So we are hoping Jerms orders stay the way they are. Keep in touch.
Ethan bought that car and didn't even think about insurance!
I paid the initial payment to get him back on base, but the next payment is due 4/21/09, and the company has my bank information...Ethan doesn't have a clue. He says that when he gets his sign-on bonus he is going to sign it over to me, but that isn't going to help if he doesn't have his finances figured out...He doesn't look past the immediate future for what may happen, and isn't getting it that the car is going to cost him almost $300 a month just for insurance, and a $185 car payment; then there's gas and everything else...on top of that, he has payments on a ring he gave his girlfriend (way too soon), and I don't have authorization to call these places and find out what he owes to whom...he also has a cell phone and had to cancel his wireless air card (he has a cancellation fee with that, $350)...His phone costs him around $120 a month...it's all adding up to a lot more than what he makes! Especially if he gets underwear or shoe polish or whatever he needs to maintain his appearance...I know that it is important (mandatory) in the Navy to look sharp, but it is tough when they have to pay for all of that stuff themselves, for sure! Ethan has a really bad tendency towards impulse spending, which doesn't help at all...
I sure hope so, Sue! I just think that getting married would be too much, and getting divorced would kill him! I want it to work for both of them, and they need to grow up first before they play house, know what I mean?
Ethan has a car payment, a line of credit payment, and a phone payment to make each month. He had a wireless
air card, but had to break that contract because he broke
the air card and isn't using the service now anyway. He
didn't call them and take care of it two months ago (when it happened), so now he has two more months' charges to contend with as well as the cancellation fee. I am in a quandry about this, as I want to help him out, but I can't see bailing him out and letting him keep making these costly mistakes. He bought the car without thinking about
the insurance...he isn't even figuring that into the equation, and he bought his girlfriend a ring...making payments on that, too.
Any suggestions?
Ethan is going to have trouble paying for those, I think. When are they required to get them? What do "whites" look like? Are they the standard white uniform the kids wore at their PIR, or dress whites? This would be for A school graduation and Ethan got pictures taken, said it was mandatory and that they had to pay for them...not sure I understand that...it's a free country and they are the ones keeping it free! I figure Ethan wanted to get the pictues, but doesn't know how to tell me that he is broke now...
Called me to ask for $ to fix his car. I told him to hold off on getting a car until he got through a few months at his first duty station. How is Scott doing?
Sue,
My son is an AM in Pensacola. He is my only chid, so when I was looking around the site and saw that you are also an "only" mom, I thought I'd check in...I also have 3 furkids, but one is a dog (he thinks he is a cat, does that count?)...
Good Morning Sue, thank you for the wonderful suggestions, it's really had planning a going away party for your son. I'm going to decorate a clipboard and have a piece of paper on it so everyone can write down their email address and I can keep them all posted on what Greg's doing. I love your pictures, beautiful family. I like to scrapbook too. Have a wonderful day and thank you again.
Hi sue... So good to hear Scott is doing so well, tell him from me that was a great score on the test. They just have to keep up with the studying. Jeremy said test 6 seems to be a hard one and alot of the guys failed it, so tell him to work hard on that one. I am so sorry to hear your Dad is back in the hospital. I hope they find out soon what is going on with him, in the mean time take care of your self and keep your thoughts positive. Will be thinking of you and hope to hear from you soon.

Is that the new Navy uniform? Gee, it does look like the Marine one. What do the hats look like?

The devil meant it for evil, but God meant it for good.
