Hey Conny! A German bakery? That's amazing! I've been a little lazy this past week but hopefully that'll pass. I haven't heard anything from him either, but I know they usually get time to write on Sundays and it takes until about Thursday for me to receive any letters and then I usually get 2-3 so I'd hold out a little while yet. I'm so jealous you got to talk to him for 40 minutes :( He did say that they'd get another call in about 2 weeks or so, so that'll be nice. Do you have all your travel plans set up?

I think you were asking me if I'd received my call. Which I finally did! But it was only 2 minutes long :( How're you holding up over there?

Week 4 is also known a "hell week". This is where everything the recruits has learned to date is tested. Several things happen. They wake up the recruits at 3:30am to get them ready for the day's activities. They bring in RDC's from other divisions and they compare their division to your division. They see how well you learned. Most RDC don't like to admit that your division is better so they find the simplest of faults to penalize you. These penalty points are called "Hits" in the Navy. Don't confuse a "hit" as someone is beating you. It's just a figure of speech. NO ONE CAN PHYSICALLY HIT (strike) YOU. You might have a small string hanging out of your pocket...hit (-1 point) You might not have your "gig line" straight...hit (now -2 points).

This explanation was taken from Craig's forum:

You should get a letter this week. I received my first real letter on day 17, plus there was a federal holiday in there to hold up mail. I didn't get any mail this week at all & of course as a mom I started to worry. But his call last night was completely reassuring that we all tend to worry for nothing. No news really is good news.
