Hi Gloria,
I finally added you to my friend list. I see you live in Batavia, IL. I live in Aurora,IL, so we are neighbors. My son is at Groton and in BESS right now. What phase is Miguel in? If you ever want to get together for coffee, I'd love it. Have a great day.
Dear Gloria, I guess what keeps me strong is knowing that Brett is doing what he loves and I can sleep at night knowing that he is well taken care of.
I miss both my kids but know that they have to live and learn on their own without Momma. That makes them independent and prepares them for whatever lies ahead. I know how you and the others must miss Miguel !
I told Brett that you & I had met on the Navy for Moms site and he
said, "How cool !" Brett is our only son. We have a daughter 25.
Neither are married and neither seem too interested or worried
that they're not. So, we may never have grandchildren...Its funny
but Bretts sister has always been in charge of him, like a mother.
She's really bossy and high maintenance; Bretts laid back and goes
with the flow, so different. But I do have 2 great kids, both of them
have great compassion for others and not a selfish bone in their body.
The were easy to rear because of their nature. I thought they'd never
leave home though. haha..
Hi Gloria ~ Brett said that he has some really good friends up there.
He really likes school, and wishes he had joined sooner. My Dad is retired Navy & Air Force and husband retired Air Force. My husband tried for years to get Brett to join Air Force and wouldn't even think about it. All it took was spending a few days talking with his Grandpa about the Navy and it was a done deal. My Dad told me that he felt that Brett would be better suited for the Navy. I think he was right too. Dad says that there's a brotherhood among Sailors, especially submariners, that doesn't exist in other branches. I believe that too. I think most of our 'kids' in Groton take care of each other like brothers. They really are great kids !
Dear Gloria,
That's wonderful that Miguel can come home for Christmas.
Congratulations on his pending graduation.
Are you going out to see him graduate?
If so, I enjoy sharing some information on that.
