Hi Monica! Thanks for the friend request! We will definitely need to keep in touch. I have had a hard time staying away from N4M this week as the BIG day gets closer (it was the same thing in BC!). I keep looking over my shoulder waiting for my boss to walk around the corner, but she's very supportive!
Monica: oh we have a great group of ladies over on the Cape group, its a small group, well it's a small ship, ha ha (345 aboard). We have one Mom, her son was with the Lincoln last deployment and on our ship this time around. Really feel free to chime in with us anytime, we have several Moms who have been through this before and others that are new to this..I think one of our members, her son is also ABM, so already have something in common. My first deployment, we didn't have N4M, so talk about knowing NOTHING, I sent only 2 pkgs cuz I really didn't have a clue - its all good though, I have made up for last deployment and this one, ha ha. Hang in there, just take it as it comes and before you know it..it's homecoming time :) Good days, bad days..but he will come home and that is beyond the best !!
Hi Monica. Ineed to retry the Lincoln site. Didn't have good luck with it the first time around. I primarily do chicago moms and molly's adopt asailor. Did boot camp moms originally, but outgrew it! The chicago moms is great. we get together every few months. Would love to have you!!
What does your son'daughter do? My son is a nuke. just went back to everett after his 2 week vacation.
Hi and Welcome.
We are happy to have you on the Navy for Moms site. You are invited to join either the Illinois or Missouri family page as listed below. It is a great way to find families in your area and even help plan meet and greets. We also have some packing parties for our troops overseas getting together. (PS Sorry I have been away from the site for a couple of weeks—been super busy with fund raisers and with work.) http://www.navyformoms.com/group/illinoisn4m http://www.navyformoms.com/group/missourinavymoms
Be sure and let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Monica-
I would say that that our sons at least recognize each other since they had been in the same division for the last 8 weeks. I will send you a friend request.
Welcome to N4M’s. This site is full of information, support and encouragement. My son graduated boot camp Jan 29, 2010 and is now stationed in Sicily Italy as an IT.
If your profile or profile name contains last name (even if it is different from your rct/sailor)your rct/sailors first name or your e -mail address, I recommend that you change it for the safety of your sailor. Remember, this is a public site and anyone can become a member and read comments posted here.
Be wary of who you friend…before you accept a friend go to their page and see how active they are, the comments left, groups they’ve joined. If they have a lot of friends but no groups, no comments, click ignore and DO NOT FRIEND THEM…it is likely they are spammers, e-mail address harvesting
If you are a DEPer:
Please join the group http://www.navyformoms.com/group/bootcampmoms , (just point and click on the http address) there you will find new N4M’S as well as more seasoned N4M’s to guide you along.
There is a group for each month rcts leave "Leavin for Boot Camp in (month they leave)" search groups and join this group...it will have info as well as connect you with other N4M's whose rcts leave that month.
Once you get your PIR (Pass In Review=graduation)date…search groups and join the PIR group..if it hasn’t been formed yet YOU may need to form it.
Go to YouTube and search Navy Racks, boot camp, graduaton, Battlestations 21 (CNN does it)
Explore this site as well…Forums, Groups and Videos and check out the “Main” tab…lots of good info
You will find this site very helpful and full of members who are eager to answer your questions. Browse around the site and check out the forums, groups, blogs, photos, videos, and even the other member profiles!
