Hello Ms Tina,
Things are hoppin around here. I quit my job in July and went home to take care of my mom while my dad had a heart procedure. When I got back, I deceided to go back to school to get my RN degree. I am going to Weatherford college and it will take me 1 year. I am taking anatomy and microbiology this semester and have been very busy. I will have semester break from Dec. 11 to Jan 11 and I will plan a get together for us. Not sure at this point if I'll be able to do the parade, just depends on school.
Hope all is well with your sailor. Is he still at Groton? Our sailor is doing well. He will be receiving new orders in Feb.
Please tell Erin I said hello. I think of my little friend often. I hope she is enjoying school this year.
Stay in touch. Will plan lunch over the break.
Love, Kate

Hi Tina,
Sorry I didn't see your son, when I was down in VA and everyone my son asked didn't know your son...We did get to see the plane, a few helos, and walk a pier next to a carrier...All in all it was a great trip, just not long enough. We were also able to meet up with some of the sailors my son had brought home over the last year and take them out to a nice meal. My son is now back on day check and will be going for his "Plane Captain" certs in a few weeks. My son will wear a yellow shirt on the carrier, he lands and sends the plane off.
Hope all is going well for your sailor, please keep in touch.

Thank you so much for the thoughts and prayers. I can not tell you how much it means to all of us, knowing that so many people are out there praying and thinking of us. Did you see my post on Texas Mom's with the website address? Please take a minute to stop in there and read all the updates. Some of what the media is saying is a little distorted, and we are trying to get out more factual information. The website is www.coltonread.com.

Hi Tina! This is NavyMom...my name is Holly. I joined the group for families with sailors on the Bush, where my younger son is stationed. My older boy recently got out but is working on base in San Diego. I'm in Alabama and I didn't see a group as of yet. Nashville is close tho, so I'm watching for them to do something!

Hey, no problem. Wasn't my slot to give away anyway. ha ha. Yeah, my knee wouldn't have held out on that hill, plus I was not feeling great. Went to the doctor this week and he gave me a penicillin shot, anti-inflammatory shot, and amoxicillin and nose drops and eye drops and the works. I take zyrtec everyday (for 2 yrs now) but when I go home to Ft. Worth, seems the cedar always does me in with a sinus infection. Thanks for the total update, I loved reading it.

Hi Tina,
Yes, Suffolk is further inland from the Norfolk, Virginia Beach area. My husband did 30 years in the Navy and this this is where we retired. This is a pretty large area, more sprawled out than up and t gets very congested in the summer months.

No I don't belong to any smocking guilds, I had a very ugly experience with that many years ago and just haven't bothered to join up again. I was very active with a local quilt shop and the gang of friends that got together there on a weekly basis, but that just closed due to economic reasons, so I am currently looking for a new place to get into trouble.

If you ever decide to come visit your son, please let me know if I can help.
Enjoy the baseball game Monday, I really prefer football and hockey so I am counting down o the fall. My oldest daughter lives in Houston and I do plan on going to the Rice/Navy football game there this year. She says they are also scheduled to play in Houston again if they make a bowl game this year.

Talk to you again soon I hope,

Lynn
