Hey Nicole, girl, we haven't chatted in a while. I'm getting packed up, we're leaving early in the morning instead. Gotta take Rachel to the Doc. at 3:00, she was sick the whole GL trip and her ears still hurt. :( Hubby's been feeling a bit under the weather too. It was hard to get our energy back after we got home anyways. There's a weird kind of post PIR let down. At least I've found it to be the case, I've heard other moms say the same. Curious if you gals feel it too.
No let down right now, you are on a Navy Mom mountain top!! I'm sure right now you, Tina and Pam are hugging on your handsome Sailor boys and going to CELEBRATE... Congratulations!!! Hope your moms dinner and PIR experience was everything you'd hoped it would be and more. Look forward to hearing about it when you all return. So, did the Hershey bars make it all the way to Illinois? More importantly, did your SANITY with your carload/2 young 'uns on board? I'm sure that's a dim memory now. =) Enjoy every moment of Liberty time with Nick this weekend!
Hi Nicole, saw you were on online and thought I'd pop in and say good morning. Hope all is well, I hadn't heard much lately, but then you have a 2 year old in the house- you are a BUSY mama. :-). Got a hoot out of your latest tale of Drama! Life is never dull when you have someone in the house who filters and projects life's experiences the way they do!!
Just got caught up on all the PIR 7/03 goings on, sounds like you are all going to have quite a weekend!! Part of me wishes I could be there to join in all the fun and festivities, part of me is glad I don't have to travel on a National holiday! We'll be camping with my best friend and her family instead. They are watching my two boys and the dog while we are at GL. We will all need some relaxed down time after that week! I'll get back Mon nt., June 30th, have to wash EVERYTHING Tues., pack all the camping gear up on Weds.and leave early Thurs. Uggghh. Definitely going to take a good book and veg/sleep until it's time to go see the fireworks!! I'll TRY to touch base after I get back from GL to give all you party girls a heads up on any need to know info. :D Can't believe I only have 11 days to go, and only17 for all of you!! HOO YAH!
I got an email from Gayle who said, "a lady on chat said she thought something happend to James." I am now totally freaking out. Did you hear anything like that last night?
tina
Do you have AIM? If so, get on. I am "mrsmcgee." I have something to share with you off site. I've sent Pam a message to do so do. If I don't hear from you soon, I'll send you a regular email
Hey girl, sorry it took me so long to respond, crazy, busy week. I'm finally getting a chance to EXHALE. Yes, I have pictures, if I can get Mark's scanner to talk to our computer! I think it suffers from CAD-Computer Anxiety Disorder, oh wait, maybe that's me, at least when dealing with the complicated technology stuff. lol
If your Sophia is a true DQ, then absolutely, you should sign her up. She seems like a ham judging from her poses and expressions in your pics. :) Rachel's first show at about Spohia's age was a youth theatre production of Charlotte's Web, she played a gosling. She didn't sing or have any dialog, just had to waddle on stage wearing this hilariously cute little duck bottom-a complete source of embarrassment now, but she was adorable and we loved it! It's also been nice to be able to say to her over the years "save it for Drama class" when she gets all dramatic at home. :D Your guys are starting week 3 today, how ya holding up?
Nicole,
I got a letter yesterday. It was not NEARLY as upbeat as the last one. The last one was a full page, this one was 6 lines! I just wish they'd get a phone call!
I was reading the discussion from last night where you said they were performing at a White Sox game. Tell me more about that. Jamie said NOTHING of any substance.
tina
nicole i got my first letter today, talk about cried but all in all trenton said he is doing okay i just miss him alot and he said that he really miss us as well.he just finish up with the p-days and things are a little better now. i hope that you had a good day.
p.s. she just had a part in Ella Enchanted (2 weeks of dress rehearsals and 4 shows, we were exhausted and so glad for the 3 day weekend!), had to wear a heavy medieval gown in 85 degree heat plus an elaborate headpiece, but she had so much fun!! She's going through a tomboy phase, so we got a kick out of seeing her all dressed up and ladylike, with makeup on.
Hey Nicole, my daughter has donated to Locks of Love twice now. She's been growing it out again, but it's taking longer this time, must slow down as they grow older?
I think it's neat when, in our self centered, "all about me' society, our kids get a chance to do something completely unselfish for someone else. Guess in a way, that's what our boys are doing.
Hi Nicole
I'm doing better i cried for the first 2 weeks straight. OMG I never thought Joshie leaving would have such an affect on me. I know this is going to be GREAT for him I guess I am just coming to terms that my baby is on his own and independant. I am so very proud of him OMGOSH. Hay have you received any letters or phone calls yet?
The first phone call was almost 3 weeks after he left for boot camp. Darren also mentioned that they usually get phone priveleges between 3-4 on Sundays. And depending on mail time - they also write letters on Sundays and it seems that most of us get letters by Thursdays. Once you get an address - send a prepaid phone card and stamps. I write a letter almost every other day - it helps me stay sane and he looks forward to hearing from home. Best news they like is what is happening with sports and local news - keeps them in touch!

I know today is Nick's birthday and it's probably going to be a tough day for you. Hang tough. We are more than half way there!!!
Tell the little drama queen that she's not "guilty" anymore! That was one of the funniest things I've ever read.
tina
BTW, don't read this one to your mom...I don't want her to think badly of me...lol

I had a great time at the movie! I am dying to hear what you did...There is just NO telling!
How do I look at your recent post??? Where is it??
