SF Bay group planning meet/greet in Petaluma 1/9/11 @ Old Chicago Pizza around 4 pm to sign Valentine Cards for sailors. Please consider coming. I am in Oakland. No one else in Oakland so I wish to go to Petaluma. My friend manages the pizza place and will provide us with private room. I used to live in Sonoma County so I feel very at home there :)

I am seeing LoriLab tomorrow and a few of the others who are hosting. We'll have it straightened out within a week - have to contact Kathy A (she has young kids, so busy, not on the site much)

I just wanted to drop in and say thanks for joining the SF Bay Area group. Right now we have a meet & greet schedule for May 22 in San Bruno. Once we have more people on board, we'll be able to revise the calendar and move things around. I still trying to get the word out. Regards, B.

Glad you enjoyed the pics! I am sure that your hubby had a great time and I am most curious now about the other ships as well. A carrier is just so huge and I wonder if you really feel the ship moving on those smaller ones. I don't get sea sick so I would probably be good to go and that water in the Pacific was magnificent!!! I have both sons on carriers so looks like my chances of a TC on another vessel is not going to happen anytime soon! Good luck to your daughter and join our group whenever!!! The more the merrier!!!!

Hello Navymum,
I was searching for members of N4M in Healdsburg and found you. There is a Northern California Navy Moms Group. Navy For Moms which didn’t exist until March 2008 has been God-send for so many of us, providing an incredible internet support system – a place to ask questions, express our concerns and share our joys. We had five get-togethers since September.
Click HERE for link to the Northern California Navy Moms group. Look for the "+Join ...." and click on the words. After you join, post a comment and introduce yourself to the group. Scroll back to the past comments posted, you find many interesting factoids and get to know the group.
My son is a nuke officer on a submarine. He is currently out on deployment. Here are a few photos from our Oct 25 Event, more on the group's page.

Regards, B.

Hello Navy Mum, I have not been on the site lately so thought I would catch up and lo and behold I see another picture with VT arch in the background. My daughter graduated from VT in 07 and has been in Navy flight school since. She is currently in Kingsville, TX training on the jet T45's. She hope to be winged in early 2010. Welcome and sorry I didn't see your posting sooner. VT was a great experience for her and served her well.

Hello Again! Not only are my son and daughter in the Navy, but my son-in-las and daughter-in-law are alos in the Navy - all 4 of them are Lieutenants. My son-in-law is also a USNA grad. Having been a USNA Mom prepared me for a lot of things, but of course not everything. Starting with college they "belonged" to the Navy. It was a great experience, don't get me wrong, but without groups like this web site and the USNA Parent's Clubs (which are in each state), it would have been much more difficult!

Good Morning, I also have a son and daughter in the Navy. My daughter is Surface Nuc just like your son. She was stationed in San Diego for a few years right after the Academy. Then went to Charleston for Nuc School. My son is subs, so he went to Nuc School right out of the Academy. Both have been in the Navy for a number of years. If you have any questions, just ask! Glad to have you aboard!

Hi & welcome to Navy for Mom's:)) You will find a lot of answers, support and encouragement here. My daughter, Ashley (20), has been in the Navy for 2 years and is an IT3 & my son Tim (19) has been in since Feb 2008 stationed on the USS Nimitz. What is your son/daughter doing with the Navy? If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm glad you joined and look forward to hearing more about you & your Sailor. Pat
