It is my day off so I am catching up on emailing. I really appreciate the Tucson coffee ladies meeting. I was so encouraged by hearing the experiences of other people. As was evident by my facial expressions and demeanor, I am apprehensive about the age of my seaman recruit! But I just wanted to let you know that coming to the meeting was great for me. Looking through your copy of the Keel was so fun. I talked about some of it with Ethan last night at dinner and he is so charged and ready! He has been going running in the afternoon to see if he can improve his time.
Also if I could bombard you with a couple questions??: He uses prescription skin lotion to prevent fish scale skin which gets really gross without lotion. Will that be allowed in boot camp? Will he need access to a checking account to get money while in boot camp and if so how do you do that?
so thanks for your great efforts on the behalf of Navy moms.
Hey Raspberry! I just finished finding all the stuff to get my taxes done. I waited until the last minute....my appointment is for 6:00 pm tomorrow!! This is one of those things I could probably do myself....but it gives me nightmares!!!
I'll call my mom tomorrow about coming into town this weekend. Do you work on Sunday? I usually take mom to church at 5:30 on Saturday...but maybe I could stop in on my way back to Phoenix on Sunday. Let me know what you think. If it doesn't work out I'll see you on the 4th.
Nice to meet you. We need to stay in touch, living in the same state. I was wondering if you plan to come up here to go to that Zone Dep meeting April 4th. If so, let me know and we'll get in touch. My son and I are going. I'd like for you to meet him.
Morning: I had my 3 grandkids for a sleepover last night. I took them for a 1 1/2 mile walk after dinner, then we came home an made peanut butter cookies...tucked tham in about 10....and 2 of them are still sleeping. Do I remember how to do this, or what!!
Do you know what your schedule is for next weekend? I'm thinking (scary!) of driving up to see my mom. If it works out, thought I'd pop in for a cup of coffee.
hiya joyce! i just now got your comment about the postcard... i see someone is already sending one from philadelphia, but I'm thinking I'll send one from Amish land... that will be a little different! What a cute idea! Thanks for sending that along to me! Hope all is well... xoxo
Thank you for sending me your message. My son Mark hasn't "signed on the dotted line" yet, but all the plans are in motion. He will graduate high school on May 22nd and, if I know him (and I do), he will be at the recruiting station on May 23rd. I am glad he has made this decision ... I think it will be the best decision of his life. And I am so very glad that this website exists. It will make it a little easier when he leaves home.
