Ouch! They came all too quickly... I made her work. I was not going to let her think she was getting off "home duty" just because of a little thing like joining the Navy. No way!
So her room went from this:

...to this:

...and this:

But, as the nasty mom I am, that was not enough. So I made her help me fold all the clothes we had washed for the past two days. Sitting on my bed, in the middle of all the clean clothes, she was thrilled:

I truly love my baby. And I adore my sweet granddaughter and her mom who is my oldest one:

My son, who sacrificed his left foot when he broke it two weeks ago while he and Katie were running together, gave his support once again when he came to Katie's going away party Sunday...

Two cakes were made for Jennifer Katie's going away party on Sunday; the first one showing somebody looking for her on board the carrier she is supposedly stationed on. Some sailor tattles on her: "Fishing, sir, fishing", thus here we see Katie fishing (goofing off) instead of working at her job on her carrier:

The second cake showed a sea battle, complete with a sinking ship, a huge sea monster attacking a ship, dolphins and even dinosaurs on the little island...

The cakes amazed me, and I was grateful to the many people who got together to make these two master pieces. We will always remember these cakes...
And, funny thing is, that they were just as tasty as artfully decorated.
More to come...
