Navy For Moms

Does anyone have a recruit in this div/ship graduating on 6/6/08--I would love to compare notes! Also, how do we make reservations at the Navy Lodge and is it better to stay there than at the Ramada 4 miles away? It seem s like a lot of people stay at Navy Lodge for PIR weekend?? Thanks

Anne- I saw that you were looking at staying at the Ramada. Please type in hotels in the search area of this site. I have had several friends that have stayed there and said it was a DUMP. The website does no justice for it at all, it is nothing like what it shows. The only part that is okay would be the restraunt. Just a little help. We stayed at the Homewood Suites in Lincolnshire last month when our son had PIR, even though it is like 12 miles from base, it only took about 8 minutes to get there. Keep that in mind. Also, the Navy Lodge , you can type that in the search too to find the #. You will need your Sailor's name and SS# to make a reservation. But do this fast, as they fill up quickly.

I don't know anything about the Navy Lodge there. I have stayed at the one in Ventura (CA) before and I can tell you that the beds were like sleeping on a sack of pebbles. I am looking for the place with the decent bed and I'm willing to pay premium for it. I've heard good things about Homewood Suites as well, and I heard the Ramada was a terlit.

Thanks--I've found out since asking that we're probably safest at Navy Lodge so made reservations this am for 6/6 PIR--Had to wait on the phone for 15 plus mins (caller # 17) so I guess the rooms will go fast!

I can't seem to find the number for the Navy Lodge. Do you mind sharing the info? My sons PIR is scheduled for 6/13. From what I've been reading....looks like I need to book ASAP. I'm hoping to book Thurs- Mon. 6/12-6/16

The # for the Navy Lodge is 1-800-628-9466. I would call asap --once you get thru they're very proessional--tell them its for the Boot Camp PIR 6/13. They even take pets (!!) weighing less than 50lbs.... Good luck!

Great. Thanks for taking the time to share. I will book ASAP. Hopefully all goes well......I hope I don't book and something unfortunate happens and his PIR is changed.

We plan to stay at the Residence Inn in Waukegan, IL. It is all suites with a separate bedroom...breakfast in the mornings and not far from Great Lakes. Homewood Suites would be nice, as well.
