Anyone with a child leaving for Great Lakes the week of May 5?

My son is leaving for GL from Atlanta on May 7. I have no idea what time, flight, etc., yet. I was wondering if there is anyone else out there with a child leaving around that same time. They may end up together at GL. I'd love to have a "buddy" to go thru basic training with...lol.

connie he left on may 6th and is in ship 6 div 933

Well Tina I am sad all the other ladies are going a week maybe two sooner than we are....but you know our boys will perform for the june 27th PIR ..... and if great lakes has a parade or something like that then the boys may be performing for that also ...

Pam~ What is a performing division??

Also, anyone know if our recruites receive mail daily or do they only receive mail on Sunday's when they are able to write?? Hmmm??

Ann, They can only write on Sun. but receive mail Mon thru Fri. Pat

Hey a 900 division. That is awesome. So did you get the form letter?
Incase you didn't know it the 900 divisions are the performing divisions.
they consist of Flag, Riffle, Band. I can't wait to hear what your son will be doing in the 900 division. My daughter was in the recruit band.

How strange is this........I just called the number at GL to find out Cody's address...the woman
say they don't give out addresses......I told her some others had gotten them... and basically she
told me I was crazy....... hmmmmm
Anyway, Cody's box was on the front porch when I came home for lunch....
