Navy For Moms

Anyone else planning on staying at the NAVY Lodge? I hear it's nice and clean and the most convenient location for everyone. The sailors have to be back in the barracks by 9p every night, but they can leave at 8a every morning..... so I don't want to spend alot of time driving back and forth.

Hey Kamara, we will be there and I have noticed alot of others that have made reservations also. Now depending how they graduate will base their leave. One mother stated that her son got to leave after PIR and only had to call in twice a day and he got to stay all weekend with them. That would be so wonderful! Take care.

My son says he has to report to the school on Tuesday. I hope this means I can hang out with him Friday after PIR through Monday. I read in the Grad pack that the recruits on liberty will have to do 'Watch' on one of their liberty days.

We haven't booked a place yet but are considering the Navy Lodge is still possible. Anyone with room rates or any information on places to stay would be great. We are totally lost right now, haven't even booked a flight out to IL yet...

They Navy lodge is only $62 including tax. My husband thinks it's going to be a dump, but I doubt it. I think it will be nice and convenient. I'm not expecting the Hilton, but as long as it's clean and no bugs.....I'll be fine. I checked on a few prices and they around $130-150 per night. I'm planning on 5 nights so that would be costly for me...however I just checked online....you could probably call the hotels direct and ask them about NAVY PIR rates. I'm picky about hotel rooms myself, but this seems to be really close to the base and that's my priority right now. I hope I'm not disappointed with my decision.

Yes, we are. Arriving on the 12th and leaving on the 15th. He is grad & go, so I am not sure what we will do about staying. May try to cancel a day, but I hear that grad & go status can change at the last minute, they won't know for sure until the day before PIR.

The Navy Lodge from what I have heard from other mothers is that its nice. The only downfall is no pool...but thats fine with me cause all I will be concerned about is visiting with my son.
