My OOPS at PIR...not once, not twice, but THREE times....LOL

When you go to PIR, they tell you at the security check in, which is QUITE a production.....it is AMAZING how thorough they are....they told you DO NOT TAKE PHOTOS ON BASE AT ANY TIME....we are allowed to take pics in the hanger where the ceremony is, but not ON BASE....soooooo....before we left for Great Lakes, I bought this fantastic new camera...allowing TONS of zoom and all sorts of fandangled buttons, bells and whistles....so I took TONS of pics at the ceremony....as we where leaving the hanger, I was outside wanting to take a pic of my new Sailor walking away, when an MP came and touched my arm stating no pics on the base....#1 oops.....then as I was walking across the street, you where supposed to cross at the crosswalks, I was yakking and started to cross NOT on a crosswalk, I got yelled at....#2 oops......THEN, it was the last day with our son.....his old girlfriend, who went to the PIR with us and my Hubby brought him to the gate, and as he was walking toward the base, I grabbed my camera, we where in the parking lot alone, so I thought......I hollered for him to wave, which he gladly did and I hear from behind me "Ma'am.....MA'AM" I turned and it was an officer in a cruiser and he asked me to come towards him, he asked to see the pictures I just took, which I gladly put on a slide show for him on the screen. He said "okay Ma'am, you do not have to delete any of those pictures but please know, you can not take any pictures of the base for security reasons...."...#3 oops....

I've always been a rebel but at 47, I thought those days where OVER....LOL...but I guess not.....

he wasnt alowed to hold my hand when we went to the mall and stuff and but it was really sweet because usually, I dont notice how many times he kisses me, or reaches for my hand, but all weekend everytime he had to stop himself it made me feel special because it's the thought that counts! It really made me realize how often he kisses me shows affection. :) He even told me one time when we were out to dinner "Its so hard not to hold your hand right now" awww <3

PDA? how dare they, We were at the ceremony floor, running up to him and I was at a loss for words when my son told us that they can't show public affection. Certainly not rules for mom,

You can take all the pictures you want INSIDE the graduation hall, but no where else on the base. Hope this helps. You can also take video camera inside the graduation hall. I have the whole thing on CD it's great.

Too Funny! As a fellow 47 yr old and avid scrapbooker, I too was "warned" about my photo taking...but my oops was on saturday after graduation. my husband and I got up early to go pick up Paige at the base....well....off I went...got into the rental car....got to the base....and guess what...I wasnt driving so no need for ID right??..WRONG...the MP booted me out of the car and made stand outside the gate while my husband was alowed to drive in and get our daughter....and they all had a big laugh about it....lesson for all...dont forget your DRIVERS LICENSE!!!!
