Missing my daugher, in BC now, Div 211, Ship 13 (since April 15th). I'm two-times a navy mom. My son went in upon High School Graduation. The Navy afforded the opportunity to reach his dreams. Today he's a Navy Pilot of the E2 Hawkeye, and will soon test/qual aboart a carrier. I asked all of your prayers for him ...
His little sister, a single mother of two, who highly looks up to her brother, left for Boot Camp a few days ago, April 15th. I've gotten the 3-line note and seems to be doing OK. The hardest thing for her has got to be missing those babies, ages 3 and 5 (my grandchildren);
I'm trying to think of ways to send her our support and love from the kids as well, she is making this move for her children and herself to pave the way to a better life. My heart is filled with admiration already for her for that decision, and for my son for seeing his dreams through, and for the U.S. Navy for giving my kids these opportunities. Above all that gratefulness and pride, I am still a mere mortal mom , an MMM... and I hurt for my daughter at this time. Reading the accounts you all have left here helps tremendously, even for an experienced Navy MOM, going through this all over again. God Bless You.... I'd love to hear from anyone with a daughter or son in Boot Camp.
We are from North Alabama.
