memories

I just joined and reading through the blogs brings back memories of the problems I or my son had. Letting them go, having them home, letting go again. The airfares. layovers, cost of coming home. New uniforms at the last minute, cut off phone calls, lonliness, lack of supplies, money! I thought I was done with my tears but they jumped right back into my eyes remembering the last almost four years of being a navy mom. Memorial Day Event?

The Blue Candle lighting on the Navy4Moms site was a big success, I hear! Can I tell you how greatful I am?

In the beginning of this Navy journey, I had an idea of what my son's life was about to embark on. He sure did! and he was good about keeping me "together" in his letters from bootcamp. I'm sure he had no clue that he was doing that. Hey there, I am not a mom but i have one and I have been thinking and contemplating military for a while now. When i told her navy she got all upset and stated all the reasons why i ought not to join. My recruiter has told me that it has changed over the years and i think my mom just has an old school idea of sailors.
