As anyone heard from your recruits who went to boot camp week of June 23rd

Hi all. I was just wondering if any of you have heard from your recruits who left for boot camp the week of June 23rd. Brian left on June 25th. I did receive the box with his clothes...but thats it. I have not received any information on his address or anything as of yet. Please let me know. Thanks....Nancy

Hi Nancy...I got the box and the form letter with the address and that is it...I was really hoping for a letter last week...Today is Sunday and it is their 2nd Sunday...hopefully they will be allowed to go to church today and WRITE their moms a letter!!! lol Nancy call his recruiter...get his Div and Ship and between the collective group of all graduating on 8/15 we should be able to figure out his address by matching him to someone with a recruit from same Div

Hi Nancy,
My son Bryan also went to GL that week. I have only received the box and a form letter that had a few lines from him written at very bottom. His recruiter gave me his address and ship and division the day after he left. I still haven't received the first real letter like a lot of the moms. Good luck!

Terri,
Our boys better not be messing up and lossing out on free time to write and call!!!! I wish we could find more Div 301 Ship 5 moms and see if they have heard anything. Gosh this waiting is something. I did talk to my nephew on the 4th whos been in for 2 years now and he says ship 5 is real close to everything, he was on 14 and had a long march to everything. I didn't send paper, so I hope Matt goes to the NEX and buys some. Heck I would take a letter written on toliet paper right now, ANYTHING!!!! I did have a chuckle when the navy form letter arrived. Matt had written his name in full on the top with his address. Matt has not written MATTHEW since he was about 3. Once he realised he could shorten it to MATT. Like I said, the less writting the boy had to do the better. My hubby didnt even think it was Matt's writting, it was too neat LOL!!

Helen, I got a kick at how my son addressed our letter to Mr and Mrs as opposed to mom and dad! I had bought Bryan this nice leather 5x8 binder for writing with little pockets for stamps, envelopes etc, but alas it was in "the box" when I received it :-(. At least the paper, stamps and envelopes he kept. I wanna know why they are told to bring stamps and phone cards when they can't write or call- LOL!!!! I am going to be running to that mail box every day! Thank God we have each other!!

My son left on the 23rd and I've received the box, the form letter and a real letter last week around Wednesday. He's in Div 299 Ship 09 and I haven't found any other Moms with a kid in that Div. He told me in his letter that he gets free time to write from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every Sunday. His letter was only half page long on stationary paper so that's even smaller than regular paper. I'm hoping he at least went to church during that time since he didn't take much time to write me. He probably doesn't have a whole lot to say and he knows I worry a lot and I'm sure all he has to tell me are things that I wouldn't want to hear anyway. He said I love you guys twice so that was enough for me. LOL!

Karen! My son is in DIV 299 SHIP 09. I have not heard from him yet (other than the form letter) his name is Daniel or they may be calling him by Cody. Ask your son if he knows him. He is not much of a letter writer so I am afraid I will not hear from him.

Tracy! I'm SOOOO glad I finally found someone who is with my son! Oh my, I was thinking...did he screw up and is in a "special" place for the unruly? I was lucky to get a half page letter from my son. His name is Josh. Full name Joshua, of course. LOL! I will write Josh today and ask him if he knows a Daniel or Cody. They could be bunkmates for all we know!

I feel so relieved now. Thanks for letting me know. I'll write to Josh and tell him if he does know someone by that name and his Mom's name is Tracy to write her as soon as possible.

Hi Guys,
My son left on the 23rd also, I got the box, form letter, July 3rd I got my first real letter, I got a B-Day card for his sister today and another letter. I hope you guys get yours. I really wasn't expecting one so quick some moms said it was three weeks before they got theirs. My son is in DIV 289 SHIP 09.The recruits are only using last names so unless they are close and talk they won't know first names. He also told me that there isn't a lot to write about.
