Hi Sheryl, When did your son leave for BC? How old is he. I am so glad you replied I was hoping some other moms fromt he same Div and ship would find out about this site. I asked my son to tell his peers about it. It has helped me with some of what to come.

Hi Donna:
Kyle left for bc on 6-9 and he is 21. He went to college for one semester and decided he would rather work. And that is what he did got a job moved out and decided to join the Navy for the schooling. He has a sister who graduated from the University of Missouri and is now working on her masters at KU. I think deep down he watched how proud everyone was he wanted the same thing and the Navy was his choice. No matter how much you show you are proud of your kids, I think they look at each other and size each other up. How old is your son? When did he leave? How is mom holding up? It's been two weeks for me and it's still hard.

Sheryl, As I am catchingup with the emails...Justin is 19, just turned 19 in April 2008. He left for BC June 9th 0400. As I said in my other emails I cry every day. I don't beat up banannas (yet, ha ha) but I do hear something, open the door to his room and smell, just start crying. I know Justin said they said it gets better after BC because he can call and come home. But I am having a hard time. Our relationship was like this; Justin would be home almost every night for dinner out of 7 days probably 6. His friends came to our home. We rented movies, went to movies, sports games (BB and hockey) run out to get ice cream; he would food shop for me and with me. He would pick up his little brother from school any where form 1 to 3 days a week. He would ask my advice on things and ask if I could talk with some of his friends for advice. Justin told me alot, I am sure not everything but my husband says "I would have never asked my mother that or told my mother that". I feel we are very close, and the total cut of from family is hard for me.
