Hi Melissa. My name is Dorothy and I live in Virginia Beach. My son Chris will be finishing school in San Diego soon and will be attached to the USS Leyte Gulf in Norfolk.

Hi, My son is in Virginia Beach. I am planning on visiting him during my spring break soon. Could you give us some ideas of things to do? We are not much shoppers, more museums, good places to eat (good and cheap), sight seeing, etc.

Hello Brenda - where did Brian get stationed? I am curious because we are in Richmond also, and my daughter has her PIR this Friday 5/23- and wondering if its actually possible? Her A school is Mississippi- but hoping for VA real soon! ~ Vicki

Hi Brenda,
My son Bobby is in GL now at boot camp. Today is offically his 3 week there and I have not gotten a letter yet? I live in Richmond, VA too. Bobby will be going to Pensacola after boot camp for A school to be a Aviation Electronics Technician. I am from AL and have only lived in Richmond 3 years. I am really hoping Bobby will get stationed out of Norfolk for at least a little while.

Hi, My daughter is on the Ike also, she is a culinary specialist. Her name is Amanda ( mandy ) How do your guys like being on the IKE and how did they both end up on the same ship. I have a son currently in boot camp, and we were laughing wouldn't it be nice if they both were on the same ship. But thought they didn't do that anymore.

Hi Melissa! my son spent 1 1/2 years on the USS Dwight D Eisenhower in the BM rate... he wasnt very happy in that rate and was able to go back to school. He is now in his "C" school for Inteligence Specialist (ground) there near Virginia Beach. We were able to take a trip out there for family day on the ship and that was a memory I will treasure for the rest of my life! It's great to meet you!
