I don't think you'd be allowed to bring that in, I didn't see anything like that at PIR and the security is very tight. Also, they are standing at attention for two hours and will be yanked out of formation if lose their bearing while doing so should they get distracted. He'll be thrilled just that you're there...truly.

Thanks....I was just wondering. I didn't think we could, I had never seen anything like that in any of the pictures, but his brothers were wanting to make something, but we can make it to give him later.

Melissa,
next time you mail your son, ask him. He can ask his RDC. My son's RDC was pretty cool and if asked, gave them good info. I didn't see any at my son's, but I wasn't looking. A group of us met the night before and we had navy flags (small on a stick, about 10x14 size). When I got out of the car, I asked if I could take it in and was told yes.

I don't believe you are allowed. Remember and I didn't know this until we arrived @ PIR....you sit in divisions...so your sailor will know at least what section you are in...
P.S.--we decorated our hotel room-which brought a huge smile to my sailors face
