Navy For Moms

Please remember all our sailors stationed in Goose Creek, SC as the storms approach them. I talked to my son, Adam, last night and he said they are under hurricane security. If the storm(s) hit and are bad they may have to evacuate to Ft. Jackson in Columbia, SC. Please pray for their safety and that God will protect them during all of this.

Lynne and Karen, your sons are in our prayers. My son has a friend who is in Pensacola and they had to evacuate to somewhere in Georgia. Haven't heard from him yet.

Lynne,
thanks for posting this. My son called yesterday told me the same. He sounded a little scared we live in arizona so nothing like what he may be facing. I have been praying for all of them. One thing I do know is that they will be taken care of.

I am sitting most of the day in ICU with my Mom. When I checked in with my husband, he gave me the info--but didn't say if ours sounded worried. Of course, he loves storms. Hear they are safe upt o category 3 at GC.

Moom is 88--she has congestive heart failure--we spent all day today with meds trying to reduce her resting heart rate (it was at 163--even with exercie, I aim for 120.) My brother and I are facing decisions in her care--it's God's time and not ours. It was extremely difficult going into ICU today--memories of my brother flooded me when he suffered a work injury and then died 3 weeks later.
Mom remains gracious in pain. I would ask her things she would love to do--and eating corn on the cob kept on coming up--
she even "answered" the phone when it rang in Icu--she was back in Ohio giving directions to someone of over 50 years ago. So, she has definitely been going back in time --
thanks for the caring--I expect another 12hours day up there tomorrow

I will be praying for your Mom. It is so hard to see them grow old and their health take a turn. My mother was diagnosed with alzheimer's during the summer. She is showing some signs of getting worse and looks like nursing home care may be in the very near future. Please keep us posted on how she is doing. Remember, we are here for you and you can lean on us. Try to get some rest, tomorrow sounds like a long, tiring day. God bless.

Thanks again--I haven't talked to my hubby since he was dealing with kindergartners for his first time ever (new school makeup.) He had bunches of crying kids on his hands. He just told me they were waiting out to see if it would be a category 3.
