Im driving from Central PA and need to stay at least 2 nights, if I want any sleep that is...lol Im the only one coming that can drive...So Id like to drive down thursday get there by dinner time relax from the drive get the kids to bed and get some sleep, then stay the night friday and get up sat morn and drive back home...

When calling the Navy Lodge.. you DON'T need his SS #. I called several weeks ago when I found out and they didn't even ask me for that. They just asked for his name and division/ship #. Good luck with it and make your reservations asap.. you can always cancel them for whatever may come up. If you call 1-800-NAVY-INN and you get put on hold.... wait! It is worth it cuz your time waiting might be the only time to actually get a reservation. Just make sure you tell them its for B.C. graduation, that way your Sailor will not need to be present when at checkin.

We went out to my son's graduation in December. We flew from Maine and were also on a budget. We stayed at the Coutyard Marriott in Waukegan. They had very reasonable rates and I think ran a special for families of graduates. I booked it through the Marriott website. It was basic, clean and easy to get to the base and back.

There are alot of hotel options available at reasonable rates and almost all give Navy discounts but you need to ask for it. Navy Lodge runs $64 a night right now, there maybe some lower priced hotels in the area. Have you received your graduation package yet? It provides a list of hotels that accomodate Navy families for graduation.

Call and make a reservation at the Navy Lodge 30 days before your son's graduation date. Exactly 30 days. You need his social security number, but you can stay there and it is less than $65 a night. It also is perfect because it's 5 minutes from where you have to go. Get a note/pass (whatever it's called) at the Lodge to use the mini mart down the street. You want to go to the graduation as early as you can because the seating fills up. If you can afford to buy a tee-shirt with your son's division flag on it, do it as soon as you get there or they will sell out. Have fun.
